Under normal circumstances the two COs are the polar opposite of each other: Colin's units are cheap but have a 20% firepower penalty; Kanbei's units are expensive but have a 20% firepower bonus. Max and Grit share the same kind of relationship too

They aren't exactly balanced polar opposites when you take defense into account, though. Kanbei's units are 120 att/120 def for 20% extra cost, and Colin's units are 80 att/100 def for 20% cheaper.

Javier is completely immune to any form of damage in that scenario, which honestly was a rather large oversight on the developers part.

He doesn't do well with chokepoints, grit can F*ck you up with them with a few artillery. Granted if we are talking about AW1 max with 150% direct fire boost all the time, he is considered to be the most broken character in that game.

Neither Grit nor Kanbei are game breakers. They are just really good COs, but they are not the top in their tiers. Sensei can easily defeat Kanbei, Hachi and Strum are way better.
