I am a youth pastor and I have been trying to resolve one of the biggest problems in youth ministry - students do not connect with the way the church presents the gospel, but they (as we all do) have an insatiable appetite for good stories. This is how God has revealed Himself to us but we have departed from the art of storytelling. I have covered the topic on my own podcast but I know I am only scratching the surface. I will be taking a class from Martin Shaw soon. Really glad I found this channel, thanks!

I have been trying to figure this out as well. Coming from a non/denom baptist like background. The modes of expressing the gospel and why it matters are lacking. I also am jumping into shaws christian stories class. Hope to see you there!

Yes, Story is the bottom line, as one brilliant video on this channel argues.

My husband (a former Youth Pastor and now Pastor/Church planter) just wrote a book about this because we experienced the same thing. It is not only youth, it is a larger Evangelical problem we still see in adults who come to our church. If you care to check it out, the book is called The Gospel is Bigger Than You Think

What is your salvation theology?

soteriology - the ology of sa Allow me to reply on his behalf with the utmost decorum. My dear inquirer, your question touches upon the very heart of theological discourse, and I am delighted to illuminate his soteriological views for you. His doctrine of salvation-or soteriology, (the *ology* of salvation) as the more erudite may call it-is nothing short of a profound theological tapestry, meticulously woven from the tenets of historic orthodoxy and a Christocentric paradigm. In essence, his soteriology is firmly anchored in the resplendent truth of Christ’s redemptive work: that through the incarnation, atonement, and triumphant resurrection, our reconciliation with the Almighty is both initiated and consummated. He holds, with the most venerable scholars, that salvation is wholly ex gratia, by grace alone, bestowed through faith in the magnificent person of Christ, who, by His sacrificial atonement, has vanquished sin and death with unparalleled benevolence. This salvific work is not merely a celestial transaction but an invitation into divine communion-a covenantal embrace, if you will, that transforms and ennobles the redeemed soul. Should you wish for an even deeper dive into these august mysteries, do let me know and I will pass on to the Reformed mythologist himself. We would be most honoured to elucidate further on this hallowed topic, and I dare say, it would be an absolute privilege.
