I read through most of the comments and didn't see any that mentioned the names of the authors of this fabulous song. Stuart Townend, a prolific songwriter from the UK, co-wrote it along with Keith Getty. Stuart and Keith also co-wrote "In Christ Alone", a song that is one of the top 25 songs on CCLI.

I think we have no right to judge anyone else's worship experience. We are not called to judge or be opinionated, only God has the right to judge. We all have very different experiences....and that's ok.

you're totally right. But then again. This song is so great that it might make it so that people feel that they are in christ. That's great. For though faith is primary about well hmm... faith (:p), it is still also about feeling (feeling love for example). The song may help in this feeling. It might even teach us something (don't know). Bear with me... this is my way of saying... the song is just great and it can even help in faith.

to see the dawn Of the darkest day: Christ on the road to Calvary. Tried by sinful men, Torn and beaten, then Nailed to a cross of wood. CHORUS: This, the pow'r of the cross: Christ became sin for us; Took the blame, bore the wrath- We stand forgiven at the cross. Oh, to see the pain Written on Your face, Bearing the awesome weight of sin. Ev'ry bitter thought, Ev'ry evil deed Crowning Your bloodstained brow. Now the daylight flees; Now the ground beneath Quakes as its Maker bows His head. Curtain torn in two, Dead are raised to life; "Finished!" the vict'ry cry. Oh, to see my name Written in the wounds, For through Your suffering I am free. Death is crushed to death; Life is mine to live, Won through Your selfless love. FINAL CHORUS: This, the pow'r of the cross: Son of God-slain for us. What a love! What a cost! We stand forgiven at the cross

Lifting hands is a act of worship and it is biblical Nehemiah 8:6 Then Ezra blessed the LORD the great God. And all the people answered, "Amen, Amen!" while lifting up their hands; then they bowed low and worshiped the LORD with their faces to the ground.

Toda vida deseja viver. Toda vida tem vida

While stating "Raising your hands IS NOT A BIBLICALLY (Crctd sp.) REQUESTED EXPRESSION" only magnifies one's ignorance of God's word (1 Tim 2:8 as stated below), I wonder if any notice the Eye of Horus in the baptistry at 3:17? I believe request had been made to Shadow Mountain about this, yet no reply, at least as far as I am aware...

"We will get punishment for NOTHING!" Really?? I know the COMMON SENSE is prohibited in Christianity. So Just keep your finger crossed, just in case the ultimate judge would like to punish the criminal!
@tomw62715 жыл бұрын
He will punish every sin, either on Jesus Christ at the cross for the sinners He is saving or on the sinner himself who isn't in Christ for eternity in hell. Knowing this if you reject the Lord Jesus Christ as your substitute you will pay for your own sin. He is both perfectly just and merciful at the same time. Hebrews 2:3, "how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation..." Christ's dying once for those He saves counts as eternal payment because He is eternal God.

Why you put on an American accent when you sing, sounds so fake, your natural accent is much better, stop singing in american
@kv84434 жыл бұрын
If you listen to various singers from different countries (ie England, Australia, Ireland, etc.), they speak with their country's accent and sing with what sounds like an American accent. This is not fake, not posturing as Americans, but is simply a neutral singing accent that some people have just by virtue of openning their mouth and singing. Without trying. If you talk with a voice teacher, or a professor in vocal pedagogy at a university, they can explain it in more depth. Your comment is like me telling you not to sound the way you sound when you open your mouth to sing. And that kind of comment wouldn't do you nor anyone else any good. But more importantly... This song beautifully and powerfully proclaims the Gospel, which is the Good News that sets us free and leads us to eternal life. Have you repented from your sins and placed your trust in Jesus Christ who died on the Cross and rose again so that you could have the opportunity to choose Him and thus have eternal life?
