Ahh, the first stage of getting old. Knee pads. I'm right there with ya, lol. I hope I'm not overstepping here, but I started catching cats fairly consistent when I started thinking like a rabbit hunter. If that makes any sense at all. Also, another gentleman who i consider a great cat trapper told me to put the trap under the cats foot. I know that sounds ridiculous, but if you think about it, it makes perfect sense. Cat are creatures of habit. They travel roughly the same hunting ciruits it just might be days or weeks apart. It's very hard for the weekend trapper to capitalize on this because we are consistently pulling or tripping our traps. If you find a path that a cat has used, it will use it again. There may be days or weeks of disappointment, but it can pay dividends with patients. I used to hang flashy tensile and cds to call the cat to my trap. Every once in a blue moon, I'd get lucky and make a catch. I would be excited, thinking that was the secret sauce. Just to experience future disappointment. But I have found consistency in trapping thick brush deer trails, placing my trap in the middle of that trail where the cats foot will be he doesn't have to change paths to go to your trap because you took the trap to him. Good luck sir happy trapping.

Another good day. I'm actually pretty amazed at how much you trap. I think that's why I keep watching lol. Hopefully the bad weather misses you. We're supposed to get some pretty nasty stuff starting this evening. It stinks to get old. Seems the knees are always one of the first things to go. I'm speaking from my own personal knee problems lol. Glad the knee pads help you. Seems it was the perfect gift.

Not sure what the trapping community thinks, but I think it is a responsible and ethical thing to set off traps that you can't attend. One of my pet peeves on the water are people who abandoned fishing and crab lines along with other fishing equipment that hurts the ecosystem. I like to think that ethical and responsible behavior is rewarded. Keep stacking that fur!
