We've built a society that has become dependent on handouts. Most people live beyond their means. An army general wants to live like a king. He wants to send his children to the best schools not only within Pakistan but also to the best universities in Europe and America. But their salaries are modest by international standards. So, where do they get their resources from to fulfill their dreams? The same is true of most bureaucrats and politicians. They rob the national exchequer. No one really cares about building a nation. You can only build a country if you learn to live within your means and invest in long term programs that raise our skills and education that should help us produce goods services that are of a higher standard.
@MonticelloBlueDevil3 күн бұрын
Corruption you are describing shouldn't limit country's growth. You think corruption in the national armies in other countries don't exist? Just google that. China is said to be one of the most corrupt but look at their development! In any case, a few million dollars Army Generals might be stealing are not in the way of dozens of billions needed to keep the country growing. Do you recall if people voted for growth in the last general election? They were voting on identity issues and frivolous ego battles of Sharifs, Buttos and Imran Khan. You don't deserve to get what you didn't demand.

Wow, what a treat to listen to your guest ! Thankyou so much for this video. I hope the government could understand that until local investor doesn't invest, foreign investors won't invest either. Local investor has the money but there are just so many hurdles and so many risks that the local investors stop in their tracks. There is a reason why local investor is moving money out of Pakistan. I will give my own example, if I simply want to buy a used car then there are so many risks involved. It takes so much time to do the research and even then there is no guarantee that the papers of the car are not forged and I will be able to get the car transferred to my name. In such circumstances, I'll only risk my money if buying a car is absolutely essential. As far as the current upbeat financial numbers are concerned, I think its the same boom-bust cycle which was say during the early days of Musharraf. The bust was far harder and stayed around for far longer than the boom.

@MR-Kalachi2 күн бұрын
@raftartv We have to be optimistic, but it requires drastic changes, and at this point the elite, establishment & Mullahs will not let that happen. It has to get even worst then where we are today, when people might stand up. If you look at the history of this area they never took a stand, so at least in my lifetime I don’t see it happening. I am not affiliated with any political party. I feel that military generals are the problem of our country and after that Mullahs, so if we are looking for a solution it has to come from them and they are not ready to make the change. If we are thinking that there will be military reforms, then we are not truthful to ourselves. It’s not gonna happen. Military will continue to play political role, we just need to figure out what that role supposed to be. Imran Khan is not a solution, it’s a disruption… which was needed to come to a solution.
