It is good videos like these that made me order my Power Wagon with the full surround camera system. On other riggs I have done I put a camera system on through a stereo with front and rear cameras. Great video.

I ordered mine with the camera but it was during Covid and there was a parts shortage so they refunded me and now I have the parts and just need to install them

How stressful! If that was me all I would think about for the next couple trips is wondering if I still had an issue. When I have a problem, sometimes I hope it completely brakes (in a safe convenient area lol) just so I know what to fix and feel good about it being taken care of. Hopefully all is well with the Power Wagon and thanks for sharing your adventures.

We drove 8 hours that night to Flagstaff, Arizona and it was just fine. Just a stupid mistake on my end of not fully knowing my rig but all a part of learning. Made me want to go minimalist on the build now. I miss it being nimble. Also, when are you coming up to do some snow camping?! Let’s go!!!!

@@RogueElement glad the Power Wagon it is all good. I understand wanting to go nimble.....I feel the same way, but I cannot stop wanting more cool accessories. I love the fact I can just go in the back of the 4Runner and grab something that will make my trip more enjoyable. As for snow camping.....you know I live in Phoenix Arizona, right? I am not sure I am outfitted to go snow camping. No RTT, no diesel heater, I don't even own a real cold weather jacket lol I might be easily convinced to make it happen though since I love the adventure lol

I did the alpine loop on sxs's and it still made me nervous. I cant imagine doing it in a big rig like yours. Its a fun trip and beautiful scenery though.
@RogueElement10 ай бұрын
Yeah it’s stunningly beautiful up there. If it were really crappy roads, it would make me nervous, but we’ve been on way worse and probably the reason we don’t get nervous up here but no brakes changes all of that haha!

So you discovered the hill descent control mode doesn’t use engine braking but uses wheel braking and that caused your brakes to fail? Holy crow! That sounds like a weak system that’s apparently designed only for short segments of use and for continuous use/descent in a PW crawling in 4L and manually selecting 1st gear is the way to go? Is that your takeaway?
@RogueElement4 ай бұрын
It’s definitely only designed for low and slow drops on trails and rock gardens, basically. Total opposite of that in most rigs. It is what it is. Useless feature to be honest.
@karolstepniewski488410 ай бұрын
Damn that's scary, I have the same PW and used hill descent before, I didn't realize it puts so much strain on the brakes! Also, what's the camper shell you have on your power wagon? I'm thinking about adding one.
@RogueElement10 ай бұрын
Yeah we didn’t know either….crazy! The shell is a prototype from Gaia Campers sold by Altitude Industries in Wheat Ridge Colorado. I think they are stocking the now…we have a video coming up soon on that, probably before Christmas. If you go look at our Gladiator vid, it’s basically a bigger version of that!

difference between petrol and diesel. we barely have to touch the brakes in the 1st or 2nd which goes a long way in increasing reliability and safety.

Yeah I miss that from my old Cummins. These Heim’s pick up speed fast, even in 4 Low in first gear.

My Nissan Titan pro-4x in 4 low is super low geared. It crawls!! Ive done some mods to help it tho. Awesome video man!!

Thanks! I think if I was lighter, it would do better down these in low gear. We’ll be finding out next summer when we return

@@FoxtrotYanky just looked it up, yes I’ve seen those before. I do have an OBD scan tool but didn’t bring it on this trip and use an AEV Pro Snap but it’s a mega pain in the ass to use so I might upgrade to something like this.
