Keep in mind this example is "Hollywood", where 99% of the non-creative crew for these bloated $300 million projects make only a handful of decisions and stand around all day snacking...An amatuer film lover/maker only needs a vision, a camera, editing software...and lots of time.

you forgot about friends as well
@XanderShiller4 ай бұрын
@@DrewFrostbaneno, your friends will call you crazy but pretend to support you bc it's still fun for them to watch you fail and reinforce all the "told ya so" toxicity and youll remain delusional to them until you make $/appear on a show theyre watching etc THEN you're a "talented genius". As for networking (ideally within the field), it's importance is often under estimated but every person is as excited to meet you as much as you think they're not..this is where real connections and progress takes place. At the snack table (for extras) on a Law N Order set. This is my experience and can be different as variables and nuances change but having a network is undeniably better than nobody who understands you or genuinely takes an interest, encourage etc. Just be careful with your boundaries but don't close yourself off.

As an “amateur” “indi” in the industry … it would be delightful to see a breakdown of “Industry Terms” (aka vocabulary) for all of ‘us’ beginners. I.e. “dood report, call sheet, key grip, executive producer, ADR, pitch, proposal, etc,… As someone who had to walk the line before the internet and at its birth… As wonderful and glorious as this channel is… let us not forget, the first timer, beginner, absolute baby… And purely passionate greenhorn … What is a 101 of terminology for the industry… “what should I know before I shoot myself in the foot with my passion..?” A series based on the vocabulary of the industry and a film set as well as the office environment of a studio …. It’s a hard lesson to learn the Hard way …

You mean you'd like to interviews with them?
@balajprasanna Жыл бұрын
@@StudioBinder In a recent interview with the KZbin Channel Film Companion South, Dir. Vetrimaran mentioned how his last film met with so many troubles as they did not plan the pre-production well. This bloated both the budget and the schedule of the movie. I just said if I could, I will send this video to him. He is a prolific and path breaking director, but this would help him get his projects faster to his audience, who are usually made to wait longer for his projects to hit the theaters.
