Well: Politicians are not teachers, so you should NEVER listen to them to learn anything. They will lie, construte, mischaracterize what they want to lie, construte or mischaractize about. The only politicians that are a bit more trustworthy then your next door used car broker are politicians who never wanted to be politicians, like Donald Trump or Dwight D Eisenhower (the only reason he became president was to avoid that some shady politician would use the nuclear bomb to destroy the soviet union, which was a valid plan in the beginning of the 1950s!) And sorry, media will also not explain you complex topics in a meaningful way. Journalists are trained to dumb down every topic to a point where its so one sided and wrong, that you could also just believe the next crackhead on the street

Thousands of Turkish people are under buildings waiting for help in freezing weather due to one of the biggest earthquakes; the Government left people to death; please; I’m begging share this with your followers. People are not dying due to earthquakes but dying because of not adequate help (and because of that, the government hides the number of deaths); they are still alive, screaming for help under buildings, their relatives hear their screams, but no rescuer is there to help them :( Anyone who Googles it and reads it 5 min can understand our desperation :( (note: please share the ‘’ahbap’’ organization ( this is not a government organisation but public help organization))

Awhile ago I repented to God then begged for help, "I was until then an Atheist." I then had a dream of Jesus coming before God and he spoke of the Tabernacle in perfect context, "A word I didn't know existed.", and what I felt from Jesus when I held him was unlike anything I've ever felt before - A lifetime of Love every second - It brought me to sobbing and it changed my life, forever. I've had other experiences since, "Several witnessed", one was seeing a bright orb of light pass across my face in the dark, hours before a major surgery the second I gave up in my heart. Know that God and Jesus ARE real and that they Love us. Let go of your hatred and Imagine yourself holding the people who've hurt you. Tell them you Love them. Always have hope, I believe that prayer, following God's laws & Love is the answer, and through that, becoming humble, merciful, welcoming, giving, and forgiving, To All.

Judith Curry was the first person I found on the internet when I went looking for contrarian scientists a few years ago. The reason I went looking for contrarian scientists was because my own little data set saw no impact of climate change. And I began to doubt the narrative and the so called science of climate change. Thanks Dr Curry!
@saticharlie
@saticharlie Жыл бұрын
Since 2010, i begin to doubt because i discuss with people who had made their homework. Then i was sceptic about the fact that we were using «low emission» for «green». Finally, myy own research in official canadian papers showed me that canadian climate has never been seriously studied, that we have no idea (canadian paper's are based on IPCC prediction and not on factual proxy) AND i saw by myself that some data had been «corrected». I work 50 km away from home. In 10 years, around the highway, i saw the land being massively changed, a lot of parking lot, shopping mail, even small city's, . SO no evaporation from trees (no more trees), no albedo and massive heat accumulation during the days. So on that 50 km alone, where the temperature use to be 2,3, or 4 colder than the the closest city (MTL), it is often the same. But you go 10 km north and it is STILL colder, as before. My point, whit these fact alone, you have «warming», but is it cause by CO2, i doubt it. Albedo is much more plausible (green trees VS black higway...) Guess what, where there is an official meteo station, that uses to be surround by forests, the is now a suburb...
@henryg2960

I was about 6 or 7 when that I can remember the first time I heard of the Climate Change Grift. It was called Global Warming at the time. Every decade or so, "Experts" would give the grift a new name. After several decades went by (I'm 50), and nothing really changed, I did a little digging. Humans Occupy roughly 5 percent of the earths surface. 5 PERCENT! They tell us that we produce to much co2. You know what needs co2 to grow? The Plants that provide us with oxygen. Guess what happens when there is no CO2?. They have convinced the masses, that the 5% of area that humans occupy on the Earths surface, can effect the earth's climate. LOL Humans have the same effect on the earth's climate, as a fart in a hurricane.

Don't you think the recent events, droughts, massive forest fires, flood elsewhere, tend to prove you wrong ? I know, correlation is not causality, but prudence would be safer. And we are gaining 0,3°C by decade. Not much. Just do the math for a century. I can't already use the upper level of my house in summer (South of France). From June to September, we live in the dark. The winegrowers water the grape. Never seen. But water is rationed. Judith Curry's position is political. I read her "Plan B", it's vague. She is out of her area of expertise, lists generalities and doesn't talk much about climate. In her introduction, I found this absolute stupidity : "If climate models are to be believed, reducing emissions will do little to improve the 21st century climate, with effects only occurring in the 22nd century and beyond." That shows she just didn't understand the fucking problem. We don't do that for us, but for the future generations.

@@ofdrumsandchords Forest fires are not greater in size or frequency than they were 100 years ago. Drought is not increasing globally - the planet is greening. Hurricanes are not greater in size or frequency than they were 100 years ago either. Regional changes in weather patterns do not constitute a global climate emergency. The climate is always changing. Always has. And where on earth did you read 0.3 C per decade. That is patently false. According to HADCRUT4 (the longest standing global temperature record) we have gone up about 0.7 C since the 1940s (the period where mass production and rapid industrialization began) and about 0.5 C the 70 years prior to that. Saying that Judith Curry is out of her area of expertise along with your idiotic lack of knowledge of even basic climate related data clearly shows you don't a have clue what you are talking about. Curry is a Professor Emeritus and former Chair of the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the Georgia Institute of Technology and currently runs the Climate Forecast Applications Network, a climate-risk consulting company. I ran models as projections for past years and compared to multiple reanalyses. My dissertation showed that climate models produce extreme solutions in whichever direction they go. I figured as a newly minted PhD, I'd be welcome nowhere with that as my conclusion. I can't like this video enough.

According to Brenda Cossman, a professor of law at the University of Toronto, Peterson is “fundamentally mischaracterizing” Bill C-16. “I don’t know if he’s misunderstanding it, but he’s mischaracterizing it,” Cossman says. (Brenda Cossman spoke to Torontoist about this, but you can find what else she’s said on the issue here.) Cossman says it seems Peterson is trying to argue that the misuse of pronouns could constitute hate speech. “I don’t think there’s any legal expert that would say that [this] would meet the threshold for hate speech in Canada,” she says. Our courts have a very high threshold for what kind of comments actually constitutes hate speech, and the nature of speech would have to be much more extreme than simply pronoun misuse, according to Cossman. “The misuse of pronouns is not equivalent to advocating genocide in any conceivable manner,” she continues. “If he advocated genocide against trans people, he would be in violation, but misusing pronouns is not what that provision of the code is about.” Cossman, who has participated in a debate with Peterson, takes issue with the way he uses the language to describe what could happen if he was found in violation of the Ontario Human Rights Code. “If he was found guilty by the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal, he would have been doing something illegal but not criminal,” Cossman says. In other words, he wouldn’t go to jail. Jail is only a punishment for committing a criminal offence-a violation of the Criminal Code. If Peterson was found to be in violation of the code, there are different possible remedies. He could be ordered to pay money, he could be ordered to correct the behaviour, he could be ordered to go to training, etc.

This is candidly the best climate podcast I’ve seen so far. Bravo. You each make excellent points on what’s likely to happen and what isn’t, and to what degree we should be concerned about which scenarios. Speaking of Lomborg, I reckon you should invite him to do a four-way podcast between you two, him and Michael Shellenberger; you’d all make pertinent points on how people should see climate change the topic and what policymakers should do in which parts of the world and how. Standing by her believes? That’s quite funny. her views changed drastically once she started to receive funding from the fossil fuel industry. It’s a very important fact, that Peterson surely just forgot to mention. Before that she agreed with the consensus mostly, that humans are the main cause for global warming and the dangerous threats resulting of that. But once her private company started to generate massive funding from fossil fuel companies, she all of a sudden threw away her former believes. Many of her claims nowadays have been exposed to be wrong, and for good reasons she doesn’t write scientific articles anymore that go through peer-review. Wonder why that is. Beliefs belong at the end of that string, and better phrased as opinions, IMO. Arriving at conclusions that solidify as rational convictions through the scientific method of investigation is a far cry from believing we're doomed because you're having nightmares after watching a scary youtube video with flashy animations of continents being inundated. But that's just where we are. So important for us all to be able to discuss this stuff rationally and calmly in the face of naive emotional sensationalism. I agree that's she's pretty solid. @@amarissimus29 her contradictions lay in her scientific research back then, and her statements before receiving fossil fuel funding. For decades she said man-made climate change poses huge threats for humanity and the planet. She has not published a single (!) scientific paper since she changed her views to prove her own statements and facts wrong. You can make everything sound believable if you don’t go to the scientific level. The fact that billions of people believe in one of the 6000 gods proves that quiet well. Most of her claims contradict her own scientific research of decades. But for some reason you’re leaving that out. And for some reason she never scientifically proved them to be wrong.

Going against the vast majority view of climate scientists, she had suggested to newspapers that most of the recent global warming was not human-caused, and had hinted that IPCC scientists are motivated by "funding" even though they are not paid for their contributions.[24] "

The key now is to recognize that some are able to stay on course and many that are put in places of power are just there because of their ego and our own laziness. We put them there. And being aware of that, you start to understand there is a necessity for checks and balances. Because there are so many more that are not easily shaken by outside influences. Or at least to the point where their world view shifts. Simply because they can recover from the pain of feeling judged and are able to let their need to understand prevail. But also that it's ok to say you don't know and you need more time or input and how expert answers should never come from one individual speaker. And more dynamics. Once she started receiving funds from the fossil fuel industry through her private company and generate massive income from them she change her views completely. Sadly, but for sure just by accident, both forgot to mention that. All 3 of Peterson’s last so called experts on this topic receive massive findings from the fossil fuel companies. I admire Dr Curry because around the time of ClimateGate, she actually engaged with sceptics, and came to the conclusion that we may have some valid points. Also resulted in some fascinating conversations about how to correctly (rather than deceptively) indicate uncertainty. It was also a pretty bold move to leave academia and go into business. @@DocMonkWarrior Yes indeed. The wind-speeds of the Venusian and Martian atmosphere also change inline with solar activity. Venus having no magnetosphere of its own has thus a hotter and denser atmosphere than Earth would have, if it was at the same distance from the Sun, inline with the true physics, because its atmosphere is receiving a greater share of solar particles. The models also ignore solar x-rays. To be pedantic, these should not even be called models as a ‘computer model’ is defined as algorithms that simulates something physical. These CMIP’s are just trying to match correlations with too few variables at too gross a resolution and as every scientist knows ‘correlation is no proof of causation’. James Hansen (who’s hypothetical nonsense about Venus started this all off) was also a NASA planetary scientist and one must question if he considered the promise of fame and fortune a fair price for his soul. At least Judas Iscariot repented. In the meantime, Earth continues to blindly follow physics rather than the IPCC.

We can use all we understand to talk about likely trends and so on, but we just don't know EXACTLY what's going to happen. So if someone wants to call attention to the worst case scenario (which is something it's legitimate to worry about), that's great. If someone wants to express hope for the best case scenario (which is something it's legitimate to hope for), that's great too. But no one gets to invoke the "certainty of science" behind their projections. That certainty simply isn't available. In all of these cases we will be discussing POSSIBILITIES. "I never bought the Gore climate agenda" It isn't the "Gore climate agenda": American scientists have been warning the public about man-made global warming since 1957. LBJ was briefed on the threat of this in the mid-60's. Dr. Hansen briefed Congress on why this was a threat in the late 1980s. IN reality, there are 14 different climate models that have quite accurately predicted how much our emissions would warm the planet, and so of them are more than 20-40+ years. Also, man-made global warming is already causing hundreds of harmful effects for people and the planet, and things will just get worse and more and more expensive the longer we delay taking action to fix this. And we're not just talking about it being a little warmer: Rapid man-made global warming and ocean acidification, if kept up too long, causes ecosystems and the societies that depend on them to unravel. Take care.

I can honestly say this is the very first one of your interviews I’ve actually stuck to for the entirety of the discussion and it was extremely refreshing to see intelligent people discussing the farce that is climate change. Very well conducted and, at least in my opinion, amusing and intriguing.

Farce of climate change? Post your data that refutes the scientific consensus on climate change.

@@swiftlytiltingplanet8481 You’re literally commenting on a video that gives you the very proof you’re looking for… Plus; there are 50+ YEARS of predictions and apocalyptic, fear mongering warning of doom and gloom that have NEVER come anywhere close to manifesting. And as if that weren’t enough proof. The ONLY response to the “climate crisis” is ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS. “Give us more and more money and that will fix the problem” and miraculously. It only ever gets worse so they can continue to tax you more.

@@brandoncrimmins6296 No consensus of climate scientists have ever warned of the end of the world with climate change. You're scoffing at your own hyperbole, Brandon. Crackpot scientists and outlier scientsts say ridiculous things all the time. But they aren't a consensus of mainstream scientists. TEN separate studies confirm the scientific consensus on climate change. TEN. I'd be happy to name them for you so you can look them up on Google Scholar and read them for yourself. In the latest study, Cornell University audited the over 88000 climate studies published from 2012-2020. Result? A 99.9% consensus that human activity, not nature, is warming the planet. It's the highest consensus yet. 80 academies of science and ALL of the world's major scientific institutions publicly endorse the consensus findings. In the latest IPCC report, over 13,500 studies were cited, with contributions from 39000 different scientists from over 2500 different scientific institutions and universities. By contrast, the video you watched features a clinical psychologist with ZERO climate science training, and Judith Curry, who has been roundly debunked in the scientific literature.

@@swiftlytiltingplanet8481 I admit it's not the scientists that concern me -- rather more the activists and the politicians that the activists fund. I am for providing more research funding into energy sources and energy; you won't find many who advocate more for building new fission plants than myself. I agree very strongly with James Hansen on this particular issue.

@@gilian2587 My advice is to ignore all celebrities, activists, politicians and loudmouths and pay attention only to what the consensus of climate scientists are saying. Not crackpots. Not outliers. Not lone wolves. A CONSENSUS of climate scientists.
