I am so sorry for the pangolins 😔 there were millions of them in Africa and Asian just a few years ago 😢 💦 I wonder which wild animal will be next? There are hardly any rhinos left (their horn is made from the same material as the pangolin scales and our own fingernails!) especially in India and small Asian islands, there are only about 50 - 60 Javan rhinos left, so the gene pool is too small and they are doomed as a species... some African species are on the brink (I think the last Western black rhinocerous died in 2011) sometimes I'm so ashamed of people...

I wouldn't say they javas are doomed. We've brought back species like the red wolf with 14 individuals. However, I don't think there are any in captivity anymore so their existence is dependent on the local government protecting the wild ones that are still around.

@@Rainkit -- they used other, closely related wolves as breeding stock and new genes, what other rhino could they use to bring new 'blood' and genes to the low genetic pool of the Javan rhino? So they won't be interbred...The Indian rhino? It just wouldn't be the same... if there were 400 - 500 plus breeding pairs of Javan rhinos left, there might have been a chance but they are still being poached for their horn to this day and their habitat is being destroyed as l write...

Zoos do, but you need to have a lot of experience and a degree pertaining to animals. One of my friends works with penguins at another zoo. He knows all their names.
