I can't even imagine not being able to leave the Bethel site because of a lockdown. I served in Patterson for 3 years, and even as a hardcore JW, I had to get out of there as often as possible so I wouldn't go crazy. There is absolutely NO privacy there whatsoever. I tried to hide in my car one time, just for some alone time. Next day at work, somebody came up to me and said, someone told them, that they saw me, sitting in my car for a long time from their window.

Exactly! Love you guys! I was a born in third generation, but even after I left, it wasn’t until I read and interacted with two PIMO elders at Bethel that I realized how much I didn’t know or realize about the Jehovah Witness organization. I felt so sad for my family, who like a lot of people, especially poor Black Southern people, got roped in because of promises of equalitarianism, living forever and being separate from the world. All they did was be propagandized to be free labor for a publishing empire. The people at Bethel have it the worst because they give up so much control just to work work work and be hoodwinked into believing they are being evangelical instead of being tricked into slavery and not having anything to show for it. Can’t get unemployment, don’t get a pension or 401K, no retirement plans. I digress. When I watched the anniversary special of the Peoples Temple aka Jim Jones cult tragedy, I was blown away by the similarities between the JW organization and the People’s Temple. Same apocalyptic theme, same separating from the “world”, same painting the “Government” as the enemy and mark of a Doomsday event, same building an entire community apart from the world and everyone working together. Also heavy amount of minorities that were recruited into “the fold”. They also engaged in public relations and had a PR person. You can still find the media stories and interviews that the People’s Temple promoted on how happy and successful they were “being no part of the world”. Sound familiar? 🤔 While there are some differences, the amount of similarities is disturbing and just like we have PIMOs that are sharing their stories of fear and control, that is just like it was at the People’s Temple and that is why some people escaped. Keep doing what you do, you are waking people up; we need to hear these balanced honest dialogue and stories.

In the early 1970s, I lived 10 miles from the People's Temple Northern California cult headquarters. I worked at a company with at least 8 devoted Temple members, some of whom constantly invited me to their meetings to meet Jim Jones. I admit that I was tempted to take them up on their offer. Fortunately, I had been studying the "Truth" book for a couple of months and my new witness friends showed me ample evidence from the Bible that proved Jim Jones was a dangerous false prophet. They may have saved my life. After 35 years as a baptized Witness, I finally realized that Watchtower is also a dangerous cult. As a result, I have not been under Watchtower domination for over 15 years. So far, the Governing Body hasn't served up any poisoned Kool-aid, but you never know what these guys will do next.

This sister seems to think that there is division within the GB currently which she discern just by watching the broadcast. Unfortunately she still insist on staying in the org. She’d fly into a fit whenever I’d raise a question (just for clarification, not to dispute anything) and start literally screaming that I was trying to “break her faith”. Her mood only deteriorated when I pointed out that the Beroeans were commended for examining the scriptures available to them to verify what they were being taught 😂! She didn’t like that at all! And my father (not a jw, and definitely not a believer in any deity) would come to support her; a real blue-pilled simp. One of my regrets is that I never just punched her lights out and just walked out of their lives, both of them. Now they’re out of my reach, both dead for some decades; I still occasionally daydream about what I could have done to them… Oh well, lost opportunities 😆.

Hey for years they have monitored IP addresses, websites, etc to see what was being accessed via bethel network from bethelite's rooms They used to monitor the mail, any SWIM SUIT editions of Sports Illustrated were confiscated in the mail room. LOL You had to walk down to get it - TOTAL Embarrassment since you had to get it from one of the WT Vice President's Wives-- George Couch. LOL Jury duty letters were opened and Legal put form for you to fill out and sent off to Kings County (Brooklyn) so you would not have to serve on a jury THEY KEEP AN EYE on God's Bethel household

They moved to Houston (our hometown) and lived there for a long while. They live in Atlanta now. As far as I know he's still "mentally in." His brother, Gregg Henry is a traveling overseer. My aunt is 87 years old and a pioneer. My mom fell in April - broke her right ankle and all of her toes. But she's holding on because we are "living in the days." I used to be in his congregation back in Bklyn, NY years ago . He was on the writing committee then he eventually became the President of the United States branch , he’s an interesting person to say the least ! Keep up the great work guys !

My heart goes out to this "brother". As many of us know, when he leaves Bethel, he. Will. Have. Nothing. No pension. No Social Security on which to draw. No medical coverage. NOTHING! If he has family still in, he won't even have them. They will be stripped from him. Of course, if he gets too old and decrepit to be of use to them, they will turn him out anyway. Caring for the elderly is expensive and the GB doesn't want that kind of money being spent on anyone but them! While I knew there were Bethelites like him (how else would all those videos and correspondence get leaked?) it is encouraging to hear from one. Thank you, Lady Cee and JT for bringing his story to us. And thank you to him for having the temerity to tell it. ❤️🌻

I’m very very grateful knowing there are other PIMO bethelites, even inside the WHQ! I'm not alone! 🥲 It's incredibly painful and hard waking up inside the bethel, where every day you still need to do your assignments and meetings and ministry, pretending that you're okay and keeping your sanity intact, after realizing that you've been working for a cult, and still need to work for them for a mean time, because you can't just leave right away. @@ExJWCriticalThinker Incidentally my grandfather on my dads side was a JW. As I remember he was a very intelligent man.I also had a good friend at my job before I moved to the US . A friend at my present job is. I found out because she keeps messaging me on certain topics.She keeps inviting me out to eat and I suspect that’s because she wants to talk about her religion.I have found them to be very nice people although they might have an intention. Knowing what I have learned from your program that would definitely be a no no .

I wonder how much of an effect that all the changes have had on the witnesses. If I don’t recognize the religion, I would imagine there are others who feel the same way. The meetings are different, Kingdom Halls are not locally owned, witnesses have been told not to keep old literature, kingdom music now parallels religious music, talks are now televised which is something the society looked down on years ago, the governing body is front and center, and some of the teachings have been adjusted due to new light. It’s too bad these changes have not given women the dignity they deserve.
