Ik this is random but I feel like the charm of Cold War zombies is the fact that it brought back the things we asked for from zombies like it was a huge step in the right direction from bo4 like yes it was easy but it’s the return to form of what zombies should be, and the concept of not having to buy dlc but just releasing it separately was a stroke of genius

It turned Zombies back to a casual mode, which is good. My best memories with Zombies is booting it up with friends and playing high rounds late into the night. That’s not something you can do on many of the older Zombies titles due to ridiculous long set up times and having to do Easter egg steps or small side quests to unlock the essentials like Power or PaP. It’s why I personally don’t enjoy maps like Origins. It also makes Cold War a perfect starting point for new players. The story isn’t complicated and it acts more like a soft reboot so new players can understand what’s going on. Gameplay wise the easier difficulty makes it digestible for new players and even gives them some knowledge on the mode so they can go back to the older modes and maps and know exactly what they have to do. I have a friend of mine who disliked Call of Duty in general and we convinced him to buy Cold War just for the Zombies. Now he’s addicted to it, and even shows an interest in trying some of the older maps and Zombies modes. Cold War is a perfect starting point for new Zombies players, bringing back the casual fun of the mode while giving veteran players decent high round challenges
