Favourite TV programme in the 50's - 60's was 'Robin Hood'. In 1960 we moved from suburban Surrey to rural Surrey, one of the local farmers was C. M. Pennington-Richards, a TV and Film Producer who produced the TV series. In an undulating field was Nottingham Castle , well a wooden facade, very realistic unless inspected closely. It was removed mid 60's as the series had finished shooting and the temporary planning consent had expired. The cattle got their undisturbed grazing back.

I love how involved the boys are in every aspect of the farm: bees, building, painting, cooking, gardening, using the digger...What a wealth of experience they're getting. Most American parents would just send them off to day care to get them out of the way. I know that you do have a babysitter, but you also include them in so many hands on learning experiences. I think you have found the perfect balance.

Now that I've reached that age where I can complain that shows on TV aren't anywhere near as good as they were when I was growing up, it's made it really hard to pick just one, so as I can't get it lower than three, here goes: It's between a cartoon called Wattoo Wattoo, the stop-motion Chorlton & the Wheelies, and the most magnificent, Rentaghost! (If you remember the Rentaghost theme tune and now have it stuck in your head, I am so sorry 😬🎶👻) It is always so interesting to watch Diogo and the bees, and I'm going to be telling everyone about the harps and rulers if they have bees or know people who do, because that was pure magic to see 🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝 That said, it's actually rather lovely that you got so into it this time that you forgot to keep filming. It shows just how much you are loving having the bees there and making them safe 🐝💛 *Hugs * to you all! xx

I'm so old and I'm sure you hardly are aware of my favorite TV show growing up, also because it was from the US. But it was Andy Griffith and mostly because of Barney Fife who I believe is One of television's most memorable comedic characters ever. Another favorite that you might be able to relate to a little bit is All in the Family, and in particular, Archie Bunker, another character who will go down in the TV, comedy Hall of Fame. Thanks so much for helping the bees, and I hope you're having a fabulous time in Borneo if you're still there.❤❤❤❤

I Love Lucy was my favorite. I am 73 and can still watch it anytime. I remember in the days immediately after our country was attacked on 09/11/2001, seeking it out to watch in the middle of the night, in between watching around the clock news coverage of the horrors of the attacks. It somehow took me to a more innocent time and your brain could just shut down for a short time.

Good evening Newby family, lovely to see John reusing wood, this is why wood can be recycled, nice to see the bees getting restored and the hornets decimated. You must be in Borneo by now, waiting to see your trip, praying you are all well. About TV programs we grew up with being in the 70's we had the Six Million Dollar Man, Bionic Woman, Hart to Hart, Happy Days, Laverne and Shirley, and of course the comedy Three's Company, which I am sure everyone saw. Those were the days, such a good time. No cells phones, one TV, Sunday's everything was closed, it was family time, we had record players 33 and 45 and the radio was blasting all day long with favorite 70's soft rock music. Talking about NOSTALGIA John, those were the days. Well let us know which were your favorite TV shows to you both Tara and John. Cheerioooooh!!!! 🙏💖🥰🌺👱👶🐶🌄🏡🇵🇹 🇵🇹 🇵🇹

One of my favourite programmes to watch when I was younger and nearly past the phase of kid shows was definitely Wild At Heart! I absolutely loved and still love watching it. And also watching the typical ‘older’ shows like heartbeat, the Walton’s and only fools and horses with my dad and grandad. My actual fave kids show was come outside, educational and fun for kids (not going to lie, at 20yrs old I’d still happily watch it if someone put it on 😂). Glad that the bees are doing well despite the wasps.

Love the table, John! My aunt told me about her little outdoor set up for frying things because the smell of oil lingers inside and frying makes a mess. I thought that was brilliant so I made a portable set up. I got a little folding table and a camp stove so when I wanted to fry, I used to do it outside on the lawn. Alas, I had to move into an apartment so no more frying outdoors. It was great while it lasted. I love pan fried salmon. With a good amount of salt and garlic, it goes great with rice. Simple and healthy!

Well, I was growing up in the 40s and 50s, so television was quite new, or at least in our rural family. So, the Ed Sullivan Show was pretty popular in our house and later, Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In.

Favorite TV show? I have two that I love equally. The original Jonny Quest, and the original Lost In Space. ❤❤ When I was 5 yrs old, I contracted a condition that required me to be hospitalized for diagnostic studies. As you can imagine, being 5 and alone in an isolation room was pretty frightening. But every night at eight o'clock, the red light on the top of the antenna tower on the roof of the building across from my room would start its blinking, and I would know it was time for Jonny Quest. For a half an hour, I was swept away on an awesome adventure with Jonny and Hadji and Bandit the little dog, followed by outer space adventure with the my friend, Will Robinson and his family, in the original Lost In Space. Still love those reruns! 🛸🏝🗼💒🏰⛪🕌🕍👽❤❤❤❤

My favorite TV show was The Carol Burnette Show, which was an even tie with Red Skelton. I am aging myself here. I loved Bewitched, The Flying Nun, The Waltons, Little House on the Prairie, and later on The Golden Girls. Bonanza was a favorite also. My all-time favorite is I Love Lucy, and The Honeymooner's was pretty funny. Thank God attitudes and laws have changed for the better since some of those early shows. John, the butcher's table is beautiful. Maybe a couple of racks on the ends for towels, utensils, lavender sachet or hanging herbs. I feel nostalgic with you as you remove things from the old house. The cool thing is in future as you look at things you will remember what their initial uses were. I love the bee sessions with Diogo. I had a younger brother fall in a hornets nest when HD was about 11 years old. He was OK after a hospital visit. The nest were in wills that were only waiste high. When he was much older he was getting out of his truck at the cabin and stepped on a red fire ant's hill. He got stung really bad that time, all over. Poor guy, trouble keeps finding him.😂 Give those boys and each other a big hug from me. Oh, and Obi too!😂❤

Love it! Loved seeing you take care of the bees. I always learn something I didn't know about bees. They are fascinating little creatures. Again, John never ceases to amaze with his ideas and new builds. Memories stay alive with each recycled piece. My favorite show growing up was The Walton's. My parents actually got my name from one of the characters on that show. 😊 See you Sunday!
