Pretty smoking solo by Pete Tolson one of my favorite guilty pleasures just from the live stuff he did off of Parachute, his phrasing is incredible and mature for such a young kid, i only wish he did a second solo at the end, i also noticed different amps , a little fuzzier then his warm smooth Marshall tone. but still great with tasty vibrato, a gem ,and i sure appreciate the different version so a million thanks , more tollson i can learn and love . Blues Rock Forever....

Superb as ever! Parachute is a brilliant album. This line up produced some incredible music. Sad to have never seen Pete or Skip play live but am so glad that I've seen you other gentlemen. Love the bass sound on this btw

The epitome of early 70s sludge rock. They were early on that train and many bands would follow that example through the grunge rock revival of the 90s up til today. This band is so under recognized. But I love this clip... complete gem of the classic rock archive.

Phil May could have done without the beard as a stage performer, but I guess at the time he must have been influenced by the music scene in general.

@@beyondtheprettythings2692 The Pretty Things 1964 ..... Are the real Pretty Things .... There's what I meant ..... Splinter remnants and umpteen changes over the few years since 64 ..to 70 ... doesn't make them the real Pretty Things.... Alan ....!!!!!

I suggest you tell that to Phil May - you should tell him he should have given up the music business in 1967 when the original band was breaking up. Do you think classic albums like "S. F. Sorrow" & "Parachute" would have been possible without myself (Wally Waller) & Jon Povey ! Is that what you think ? Do you think we should be vilified because Phil (my life-long friend - we grew up together living opposite each other in the same street since the age of 4 - and Jon Povey lived 100 meters away ! That was far more of an 'organic' line-up than the first - John Stax was my friend before he was Phil's. Don't dare ever think of us as interlopers - we were far more Pretty Things born and bred than the others. If all you ever want to hear is early 60s R&B then good luck, but that all ended in 1966 - Jon and myself were there playing at the very last Pretty Things Concert at the O2 on 13th of December 2018 !

OK ...... Let's not get into a slanging match here .... "Sorrow" and "Parachute" are 2 albums that where criminally overlooked on the popular mainstream of all-time best albums ....for years until all-time best album statistics where compiled ....and years later those albums got long overdue recognition ... And I must add they were to be heard in any students bedsit or mainstream contemporary rock/prog private collection in any City up and down the UK and abroad at time of release .,. I wasn't making a debate about the real Pretty Things ....cos they evolved since 64/65 period into that extraordinary Pretty Things period ..... I was merely emphasising that original lineup had changed .... Alan ..... I was just stating that the bands longevity as a pulsating raw floorshaking band didnt

I'm not having a slagging match - Phil asked me to join the band - he had his reasons - if you've got a problem with that you should take it up with Phil - I don't need your Snyde comments about not being a Pretty Thing after the shift I put in there, and I wasn't just a journeyman Bass-player, I had some really important input - all the writing on Parachute was just Phil and myself - that sounds like a proper Pretty Thing to me !!!!
