Imagine evolving out of the 60's then 70's, this is your music, nothing better since. So you end up listening to the same music over and over again. Stones, Hendrix, Doors, Jefferson Airplane, Janis, Allman brothers, Cream but you missed out on Pretty Things. Now I hear them for the first time, SUDDENLY there is something new for a change. Thanks for digging them up German.

I’m 23 but have always only listened to 50’s-90’s rock and roll and it was SO AWESOME to find something new like these guys! Who influenced so many of the people we listened to for DECADES. They’re slowly creeping up on my top fav bands list
@finnmacdiarmid32502 жыл бұрын
@@iliyanamarei They just might be my new favorite. The musicality was better than Pink Floyd for the time, one could even argue more intricate

similar for me...grew up in the sixties with the same bands. Only recently have I come to the realization that there is much, much more to the music of that period!

Simply SUPERB! The Superb Pretty Things from a never to be forgotten superb Era playing various tracks including the superb 'Rain Trilogy' taken from their superb Album 'Parachute'. Looking back at my life, especially during in those Halcyon days of mid '60s & 70s when British Pop & Rock were both at their Best (its never been bettered) regardless of Politics, Strike after Strike after Strike , Power Cuts and Candles, 3 Day Weeks - thanks mainly to the Superb variety of Live & Recorded Music life to many, was one huge constant Upbeat. A Zillion Thanks to 'The Pretty Things' and ALL the other Incredible Bands, Groups, Performers, Composers, Recording Engineers, Musical Arrangers, DJs, etc. who helped make life so Wonderful & full of Magical sounds.

How did I miss out on this band, how could I have just heard their music. It's like a crime, who was their Manager, why didn't Andrew Loog Oldham sign them up along with the Stones. We the fans feel LEFT OUT, Pretty Things are Incredible.😎😎🤔❤️

Clapton, Hendrix, Page, and Beck all deservedly share their 60's guitar god status and yes there was a sh#tload of unsung talent from that same era, but there were only a handful that commanded their respect at the time, and you'll never see any those guys on any contemporary GOAT list (except for maybe Richard Thompson, but it took him 4 decades of work and survival to get on those lists), but Pete Tolson was one those guys...

Beautiful, this. So gentle, and so slowly, builds to a psychedelic crescendo. Impeccable vocals and musicianship throughout. The very tasteful movements...well, just compare 'Rain Trilogy" to "Free Bird", a really good tune but The Pretty Things are fine art. I'm curious what is that axe Wally Waller's playing? It looks like an upside down lefty with an odd body...? Bet it might fetch more than a few quid in today's vintage, or collectable market. -Doug Pratt, Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

I always saw their LPs in stores back in the 80's and I saw they were on Swan Song and I always thought I should check them out but the thought would leave me and I would forget. Well here we are some 40 plus years later and I am finally checking them out from hearing Robert Plant mention them on an interview with Jonsey's Juke box. I am sorry I missed out, very impressive... a lot better than many I saw hit the charts over the years who were not worthy IMHO.

NEVER TOO LATE Chris....these guys are (Simply Stated here:) "THE SHITE'!!....been s MAJOR PT's "Slap" since mid-70's High School years when they got some Detroit FM Radio play while opening for Zepp' (Page/Plant & ESPECIALLY Bowie LOVED EM'!!) on their U.S. tour at the time!!....

Yes, great drummer, but keep him away from the microphone lol. It gets embarrassing. He basically only did co lead vocals with Phil on Route 66. Check him out at the Ragnarok fest in 73 or 74. He honestly came across as a hybrid of Mick Jagger and Gary Glitter, especially with that hairy butch chest
Yes, he was a very special drummer. His son Dov has followed in his footsteps! kzbin.info/www/bejne/gZzaoIyNe9qBbKM

Better management and record company support would have made this band much bigger, just consider what the Stones and other bands turned into..............Rock Gods.
@finnmacdiarmid32502 жыл бұрын
The Pretty Things are THE rock gods. They didn’t want the spotlight and what at the time was 15 minutes of fame and the end of a career. They set the tone for generations after them. Bowie wouldn’t have happened, the Ramones, ELO, etc. All have used elements from these legends. Dick Taylor could have written the shine on you crazy diamond solo the way he was playing at the time.
