As far as we’re concerned, this was also the last episode of Aussie TPIR *_ever_* , because we’re NOT counting the 2012 reboot (which was basically a nightly infomercial for Big W, aka Walmart Down Under).

28:42 Rats, rats, *TRIPLE RATS!* What a way to close out the second Larry Emdur series (2003-05): a dreadful loss.

They should bring this back to Australia. Including a Weekly Monster Showcase of over $100,000 and an Annual Mega Showcase including the Mega Prize of the Luxury apartment to possibly take it to around a million dollars.

NathanDesignerBoy7 No, this was the final first-run episode... I can understand the confusion though, because Nine ran repeats of the '05 series over the 05/06 Summer, before retiring the show at the beginning of the new ratings season, but as I said, this was the last episode in the series... Unfortunately, Seven didn't do TPIR as a product any justice with their 2012 version... we can only hope the next network to pick it up gets it back to where it was! On another note, Family Feud, which took the slot vacated by TPIR is now set for a comeback on Network TEN according to reports in the Sunday paper!

There was only really one real reason I watced this show apart from seeing people win amazing amounts of money and prizes when they got the showcase, and that would be the hunk of a handsome host Larry Emdur. I'd like to swear but I won't. Darn he's cute :)

Nine ran repeats of The Pricr is Right during the summer ratings period. During the final 2 weeks of the non ratings period, Larry Emdur appeared simultaneously on Wheel of Fortune (7) and 9 before retiring The price is right to make way for Berts Family Feud. Larry Emdur was a better host of Wheel than Steve Oemcke (which he struggled in 2004). However Channel 7 had decided to axe Wheel of Fortune after 25 years on air.

They use a buzzer noise if you win the piggy bank on this version of Price is Right, in the US version they just use the same ding noise for lightning up numbers, I prefer hearing a buzzer noise if you win the piggy bank.

The cancellation of the original Price is right was the beginning of the end for Australia's game shows. It was the beginning of a long string of game show flops and and GS's getting cancelled within months of each other - Wheel Of Fortune, The Master, You May Be Right, The Rich List (Which actually rated well at first, but turned to crap when they changed it to a Saturday night time slot), Bert's Family Feud, National Bingo Night (Fix!), The attempted 08 revamp of Wheel Of Fortune, 1 vs 100, That piss-cheap revamp of The Price is Right in 2012, and now even Deal Or No Deal has finally been canned and they're just showing the same episodes of it from the last 12 months over and over

+James Michael Harding I can't work out why they tried to bring it back when all they could offer were cheap and nasty prizes. Even the props and game music were cheap. It looked like one of those parodies from the show Full Frontal in the mid 90s.

It was then followed by million dollar minute , a fourth attempt of family feud, and pointless as short lived game shows in the last decade.
