There's an old saying, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." I'm in the U.S. and I think other countries, including Australia, would have enjoyed greater success with TPIR if they had simply copied the original version of the show from right here in Hollywood. Last week, the show entered it's 53rd season on American television. Every weekday, Monday through Friday, since 1972, with the same logo, same theme music, same stage layout and many of the original games.

@@lachlanpattersongameshows Yes, in fact, they seem to have an unlimited budget. They do a weekly nighttime version of the show with bigger prizes and last night one contestant had a chance to win $500,000 playing Plinko. Unfortunately, she didn't because the chips didn't fall in the right slots. I was a Showcase winner on TPIR about a year ago. It was a blast!

First time seeing this version I can understand why hey hey would have won the time slot in its day hey hey was a show everyone watched on Saturday night. I found this one a bit of a bore compared to the 1981-1985 run. I grew up with Larry’s version so obviously I loved that one

Didn't isn't Turpin do another version of the price is right in 1984... 1993 to 1998 was Larry emdur then came back 2003 to 2005... 2012 was year turns passed away but channel 7 was terrible gift vouchers as prizes no bidding for prizes... or put the us version on... channel 10 is going to screen wheel of fortunewith Ryan seacrest

@Lachan Patterson Game Shows I helped FLEMISHDOG find these tapes They were given to a 2nd hand shop in Paddy’s Market in the suburb next to mine. The person had a HIFI VCR in the late 80s early 90 which cost over $1,000 the store could not sell them so they gave them to me for free. Now there looking for more gave them a flyer with photos and my contact info The recordings were from 1985-2000s. Mainly Soap Operas ie Days of Our Lives, Neighbours and Home and Away. Sitcoms ie The Golden Girls, Alf, Family Ties, Family Matters, Acropolis Now, Hey Dad, The Cosby Show Sports ie AFL SANFL and VFL Aussie rules football There were bootlegs where half way through the tapes there is TV that’s how Wombat, Live Wire and Supermarket Sweep were found Strangely taped the Price is Right on a Timer. Music Videos off random music shows sadly no presenter bits just music videos but one tape has ads Music Express 10th Anniversary show from 1985 a local Adelaide music show Then there was also junk I got rid of Bootlegs, Home Movies and P*rn 😂

Remember Alf He’s back on Tape Form 😄 There is another It’s a Knockout I gave FLEMISHDOG from 1986 sadly no ads but complete it’s the Celebrity it’s a Knockout Don’t know when that’s going up. A guy who does Scrap Metal on Facebook and Gumtree who also cleans out deceased estates found these tapes. The guy was going to donate to a Charity. Since then that Charity also has my flyer looking out for me not to far from my old primary school I use to go to from 2004-2009
