Wow! I have never seen a raw 60hz (60fps) signal from the 80s. Usually most old footage was taped at 30fps. Very rare to find footage like this nowadays. Whoever taped this deserves a medal!
@KalOrtPor3 жыл бұрын
It was probably converted for upload to KZbin....Though it was interlaced, any VCR recording would look smooth as this if the source used video cameras like live news and family sitcoms which captured movement between each odd/even pass, and played back on a CRT. Old TVs were native 60Hz interlaced and redrew the screen differently from today's displays which is why it's hard to get old tapes to look right. Almost all old video sources I see uploaded to KZbin are mistakenly done so at 30 progressive frames per second which loses its fluid motion and "soap opera effect" that originated the term. There will necessarily be some level of interpolation to convert a 480i analog signal for modern displays, but if it's a video source, the encoding really needs to be set at 60 progressive fps in order to look close to the way it did on original hardware, as the uploader did here.

Hi everyone! My mom, Cindi, was on The Price is Right in 81 and she said it aired somewhere between Jan-Mar of 1982. She played the Clock Game and she also won the showcase showdown at the very end of the show. Does anyone have any advice as to how I can find her episode? I don't think it's on KZbin, unfortunately. She had a pink shirt on, name is Cindi Robinson, played the Clock Game and won, then won a trailer, jukebox and other items at the end of the show. If anyone could help me I would appreciate it so much. She's getting older and I really want to surprise her on her birthday with the episode. Thanks so much for any help!!! She said it was right around when Bob's wife passed away, if that helps at all.

I think it had to have been a fur episode, considering the fact that it aired during season 10 (which was actually the last season where fur coats were offered as prizes)

Bob may look strong on acknowledging Dorothy's death but in reality, he underwent depression for 2 to 3 years and was never the same again.

I was shocked that they didn’t repeat that she needed to bid lower than $650 and let that one stand! It had to be a one off.

I can't find an exact date. Dorothy Jo died in 1981. I suspect he had gotten a lot of cards and letters by then. He just wanted to acknowledge all the people who sent them without actually having to write back.

Christopher Baker according to IMDB she died on October 19, 1981. She was 57. Looks like she was born two months after Bob...Bob was December of 23, Dorothy Jo was February of 24.

Christopher Baker it wasn’t my first choice. I put in the inquiry and that was the first result that gave me what I wanted. Who knows how much longer Bob will be with us but a lot of times the survivor spouse doesn’t live much longer - and next year will be the 40th since DJ passed...25 1/2 of those 40 years hosting the show.
