I hope the Israelis will sooner or later learn that maintaining a occupation on Palestinian lands is unsustainable and will not lead to peace, just as the Palestinians learnt that refusing to recognise Israel's right to exist was unsustainable and did not lead to peace

Exactly. Until both sides are willing to own the mistakes they’ve each made and accept its not all the other sides fault, neither will be able to move forwards and achieve what most people want for the region. Surely their citizens must be tired of the senseless deaths and destruction every few years.

We need to clarify that Palestine was a territory of the Ottoman Empire and included arabs and jews. The single biggest problem is that there is not a single rep. of palestianian arabs.

@@1972dsrai Read up on what Israel offered Arafat in 2000 when Clinton was able to bring both of them to the table. Israel offered Arafat 99% of what he asked for and he said no. The Palestinian Arabs have had terrible leaders who have not really had the people’s best interest at heart. Arafat was at heart a terrorist who wanted to destroy Israel and Abbas is the same. These poor people need good leadership.

@@sandrad9695 come on you obviously totally did not watch or understand this documentary. Israelis didn't want to start negotiations, but when they realised they can totally fck the Palestinians they used it for cover of continual Settlement to prevent Palestine from ever being a free country. Netanyahu even supported Hamas if not keeps using them.

Why to this day has no agreement been found after coming so close in Oslo all those years ago? Obviously both sides were close enough at one point so why are they so divided at this current time?

- lots of reasons but the Assassination of PM Rabin & subsequent rise to Power of Bibi Netanyahu & his Likud Party tops the list from the Israeli side . Netanyahu & Likud have moved Israeli politics far far Right of where things were in the 90s . Netanyahu campaigned against Oslo , he wants No part of a Two State solution . Basically the same thing happened to the Palestinians , HAMAS overtook the PLO . In short the extremists Won the people lost

Arafat signed a deal fool’s deal. This is why to this day tension persists between Israel and Palestine. Israel essentially kept Palestine as a lap dog with no power. You have to give it to the Israelis though, they are master political chess players. After hearing these details in this video, the Palestinians essentially accepted bread crumbs and Israelis ate the entire dinner.

This documentary did not mention the other offers of a full Palestinian nation where Arafat was offered 90% of what he wanted in 2000. He didn’t get east Jerusalem as a capitol and a couple of other things. But it dismantled settlements and gave the Palestinians a sovereign state. Arafat said no. In 2008, Abbas was offered even more of the land he wanted, 94% of it. And he said no. So, yes, Israel did eventually offer a sovereign Palestinian state in the West Bank, but the PA turned it down again.

@@koscocosco5309 😳 They turned down having their own nation in the West Bank for THAT?! Wow. They have worse leadership than I thought. That’s never going to happen. Jews don’t have the right of return in Iraq, Iran, Syria, Lebanon, Morocco, or any other Arab or Muslim nation they were kicked out of. Jews certainly don’t have the right to return to Ramallah, Nablus, or any other Arab city in the West Bank that they were kicked out of in 1948. Why are the Palestinian Arabs different? Israel can’t risk millions of Arabs coming back into Israel proper. Israel needs to remain Jewish and keep itself safe. If Palestinian Arabs turned down their own nation because of that, then they’re never going to have one and it will be their own fault. And it’s really sad.

Getting back to 1921 partition plan; 1] In August 1007 I was invited to the London Commonwealth & Foreign Office; with very important Gulf War information. 2] As thanks, I was appointed to a Commonwealth project to ‘Facilitate Israel joining the Commonwealth’ 3] I asked why Israel’s entry was wanted. 4] They explained that after World War 1 1n 1918, as the War of Armageddon war was fought 19-25 September 1918 at Megiddo, they decided to re-establish Israel. The 1917 Balfour Declaration called for Arab land, so Trans-Jordan was established as the Arab Palestinian state in 1921, 0n 70%. 5] Israel’s 1922 establishment (on ALL of Cis-Jordan), was blocked by the new League of Nations. 6] The 1921 partition plan must be returned to!!!!

It's like some sad cocktail party filled with the most mediocre people in the neighborhood - husbands, wives, brothers-in-law, acquaintances through marriage - fooling around with biblical entanglements and deciding the kinds of lives that nameless, faceless, moneyless and powerless people will lead. The cream does not rise to the top...in any country.

Insightful documentary with lots of important issues about the Oslo Process, but they should at least discuss the wave of suicide bombs by factions such as Hamas in the 1990s that virtually destroyed Israeli belief in peaceful negotiations. It was two suicide bombs right before the Israeli elections in 1996 that basically thrust Netanyahu into the role of Prime Minister. How such a documentary can ignore extremism on the Palestinian side is astonishing. I don't support Netanyahu or Israeli policy vis-a-vis the Palestinians currently, but this documentary is blatantly biased.

They cant discuss everything. They would also have to cover the cornering of Arafat and the evidence that suggests an assassination by Mossad and election process and Israel's dissatisfaction with the democratic election of Hamas and it's block aid in response which led to rockets, and on it goes. This was a very unbiased and fair representation in my view. It certainly was not a Fox pr0duction.

you noticed those bombings and you did not notice how Norway and Jews conspired PLO. How Zionists were late 5 days to Washington agreement just to show off their arrogance. You did not notice those families whom their houses were taken and given to another people in broad daylight. Until you go through what Palestinians have been going through you will never understand how heartbroken it is when UN, Human Rights U.S.A and all those pioneers of democracy and human right activists are not doing anything. This documentary was about OSLO "peace" talks. Understand that

It's a good doco sure something's are missing . It does some justice to the Arab perspective. ALJ has its biases but it's was better than Murdock. So much of what's going on in Israel now is shipwrecked from Oslo. There must be a one state solution now, equal rights . Such opportunities missed. Palestinians must stop saying no.
