The four favorite loyal primarch and there legions I like the most are by order lion el'jonson primarch of the dark angels, ferrus Manus primarch of the iron hands, Vulcan primarch of the salamanders and finally corvus corax primarch of the raven guard. Each with differences I like and that are awesome. The lion with his absolute loyalty is it's own reward and predatory nature🦁. Ferrus Manus for being the emperors iron hand the grind the enemy's of humanity to dust🦾. Vulcan there nothing much I could say but is the human of all the Primarchs, the love he has for humanity is what love about Vulcan ❤. Corvus corax the shadow of the emperor, the deliver and the liberator. For within the all the shadow he will strike to insure that humanity will endure but as be safe from chaos and xenos forces🖤☠. Very nice interpretation for Angron one of the best metaphor/explanations ever given to the Emperors actions. Imagine when you are to find the Primarch you created for compassion turned into a hate machine. Angrons fate is one of the best reflections of the mentality of the whole setting. Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grim dark future there is only war.
@AnIdiotsLantern2 жыл бұрын
For me the most horrifying thing about Angron is that he’s the monster human cruelty made him. Otherwise sane and normal baseline humans looked at this magnificent demigod, and thought “hey, you know what we should do with him? We should cut open his skull, scoop out bits of his brain, fill his head with spikes of Hate Metal, and then watch him murder his friends!” And other humans went, “oh that’ll be so fun, let’s do it!” They did that in cold blood. Because they thought it would be entertaining. That’s the real grimdark.

I'vr never been much of a fan of Angron. I thought his origin was kinda shitty but the way you described his discovery by the Emperor was magnificent. The Emperor seems utterly horrified, but keeps his composure. Horrified not only what he had become, but what they had done to him. The defiling of a primarch, of one of his sons. I feel like it gives Angrons sudden teleportation much more meaning, as it makes it seem like the Emperor didn't want to lose another son, and in desperation teleported him aboard his ship, rather than out of cold calculation.

The Emperor may have had the dream of the Imperium and his armies were impressive and vast, but it was Primarchs his very own sons that won him the Galaxy. Each one was a master of war and were demigods of battle, even ten thousand years the Imperium remembers these figures of legends. The Emperor may have had a design for each one of his sons, but in their own shape the Galaxy in their image.
@papanurgle83932 жыл бұрын
@Leo Ranson No, he's spot on: The Emperor understood full well that he needed the Primarchs to make his vision a reality, otherwise he wouldn't have bothered to create them. Each had a role to play (the full details of which we will probably never know) in a design so impossibly vast that it demanded the minds of demigods to see through; it's arguably half the reason the Imperium is so dysfunctional in 40k. Never forget that he'd allegedly guided humanity from behind the curtain for millennia, had ultimately *failed* to make his utopian vision a lasting success (relative to other galactic players at least), if he'd been able to go at it alone, he absolutely would have.

The perspective you depict in this video reguarding Angron is not only the best, but I'd go so far as to say the only good way to rationalise Angrons existence, far too many try to argue that he was just a tool in the Emperors eyes and that the Emperor didn't really care but that conflicts with far too much and also makes Angrons existence a bit of a plot-hole as if he really didnt love his sons, he should have purged Angron, Angron was too far gone and was nothing but a detriment to the Imperium and easy pickings for chaos.

I've watched this probably a dozen times, and I only just now realized that the Remembrancer at the beginning is Baldermort's self insert POV character. That this is how he imagines himself if he were in 40k. An elderly scribe dwarfed by the titans, scope and scale of everything in the setting, but still doing his level best to convey them in a way we (the human populace) can relate to. Or maybe I'm reading too far into things. I have been known to do that. Either way, the Primarch was right to laud and appreciate him. We all do.

I despise the yeeting of the primarch’s by Erda so much. It reduced what was supposed to be an epic confrontation between the emperor and the chaos gods to a marital spat. If you allow for the Primarchs to survive and become part of the new human-dominated chaos and Xenos free galaxy, which roles could they have played; Guilleman would be a masterful administrator and bureaucrat. Perturabo a superb builder and architect of War and peace structures. Dorn the permanent commander and overseer of the Sol-System Corax would have written books and retired in peace. Ferrus might have become something in manufacturing and production. Fulgrim could work in culture and arts. Sanguinius as diplomat or living symbol. Alpharius as intelligence leader. Vulkan might retire to a peaceful forge. Russ would bored to madness and drinking on Fenris. 😉 Horus as supreme commander of the armed forces. Both the Khan and the Lion would be working in the outer Dark, free to ride and exterminate as they would. Lorgar would take up writing full time to be the single bestselling author in human history. Angron would be dead and happy about it. Morty... I haven't a clue. Konrad would be in jail. And finally Magnus would on the Golden throne and flying with his father in the Great Ocean.

Perturabo, Angron, Mortarian, Konrad, Lorgar, and Magnus at minimum would have to be executed or turned into a valuable tool to create a peaceful chaos-free xeno-free galaxy. Perturabo could never be happy or peaceful because he was too bitter and stupid to be anything else. His inevitable rebellion is crushed by the other Primarches. Angron was literally lobotimized into insanity, and simply couldn't be allowed to live after serving his purpose. Mortarian's psyker hatred would have inevitably turned against the Emperor, and he'd likely be the one that encouraged/rebelled alongside Perturabo. Konrad and Lorgar simply cannot exist in the Imperial Truth. Both fly in the face of the Emperor's goals. Plus Magnus was always designed to be a living battery. Russ would likely become a skald, as he frequently told stories and made merry with his sons.
@frankdagrank24232 жыл бұрын
@@ZeroNumerous the magnus statement isn’t really true. Sure he would be a battery for the astronomican but that would be such a small part of what he would do. This is going to be one of my top 5 favorite Baldermort's videos. Keep up the great work BOSS!

I had always wondered why The Emperor seemingly messed up so much with Angron, and this is easily the best explanation, it was to keep his anger, the only way to keep him alive. If The Emperor had done what most I've seen suggested, help him in his last homeworld battle, it would have been his LAST battle.

If there was a standard to measure 40k lore videos. I am sorry, but this would clearly surpass in all metrics. And it was a true pleasure to listen to my good man.

I only listened to this. I didn't look until the primarch spoke. I was curious which primarch caused this. Seeing it was Corax made so much sense haha.

Love the description of the Unification Wars, you definitely do justice to the magnitude of it. It's hard to build a complete picture of how messed up Terra was at the time and how hard the burgeoning Imperium fought to take it. Especially the Thunder Warriors, I don't think many fans realize what role they played beyond being "proto-astartes", or how much humanity ultimately owes them.

Truly splendid work once again, sir! I swear these just keep getting better (Somehow!). Also, on a joking note, it's actually kinda perfect how Corvus went to go meet a kindred mind who he appreciated and wanted to work WITH, and when they meet, the bloke wails in terror and wets himself. My poor boy Corvus just can't catch a break xD

I’ve been into 40k lore for a can’t even remember how long, and I’ve never thought about Angron’s situation from that angle before. Whether true or not, that the Emperor did it intentionally to give his son rage-fuel to survive is now my head canon.

Luetin and baldemort. Two halves of the same coin. One viewing the emperor as a cold and uncaring power hungry tyrant which casts everything useless aside without a second thought while the other sees him as lonely man who couldn’t succeed, even with millennium of meticulous preparations spurred by an immortal, but still all too human heart which made sacrifice after sacrifice which even included his own life and happiness. Neither side is inherently right, but nor are they inherently wrong. More then likely the truth is both, neither, or a combination of the two. Thoroughly enjoy these videos. I personally think that the emperor wasn’t an entirely whole person as the souls never 100% merged perfectly which left him with different thoughts. Some which were extremely compassionate and loving with others being cold and calculating. I think the fractured emperor soul is mostly the imperfectly fused soul pieces being separated

I've listened to the Angron portion a number of times and. uncaring of the opinions of anyone(save that of our noble narrator) reading this, will honestly admit that I've allowed its telling to emotionally break me. I weep openly, longer and more uncontrollably each time. Not figuratively but literally... Tears now flow from my eyes, cascading down my cheeks, falling from my face akin to that of a waterfall and forming a deep & salty sea of bitter sorrow upon the floor at my feet, broken-hearted... Now understanding something from my own life having run somewhat parallel to the tale's recital and explanation therein that I never fully realized until just this moment. Irreconcilable, not with a son but with a father that has not taken a breath nor even beat his heart once in years now. An understanding dawning on a situation and its subsequent repercussions that have profoundly impacted both the lives of the father and that of his wayward son... I cry for my ignorance and for the fate that I had forced upon us. I cry for his death has arrived before I could look into his eyes and say, simply, "I understand now, why you made your decision, and I no longer hate you for it." An agony akin to that of the description of pain caused by "the butcher's nails" themselves. I suffer now and forever more.

I really do look forward to all of your videos because they're all done superbly, second to none, truly! I don't like or listen to any videos on chaos except for yours I don't even like chaos but your way of presenting them humanizes them in a way that's tangible. My favorite story you've written, is with general Massena & the blood spheres. But all your work pales and comparison to this one video as a design was Shakespearean in the way that you created it and presented it. Truly just one episode is a work of art. You even included the second & eleventh legion, when anyone else would have just bypass them as there's little to nothing known about them to the best of my knowledge anyway. It is your attention to detail that set you apart from all of your contemporaries. You are the only one who does these videos in a way that's not just educational or simply entertainment, but you do it in a way that creates a true art form not to continue to use the same word but there is no other word I know that can describe it better. This one video encapsulates the art form that is your work better than any other, from an artistic stand point I don't think you can top this one ever. With gratitude & love, Angel of the Light.

I’m very late to this installment of your works Sir Baldermort so I don’t know if you will see this comment. I just wanted to say that as a World Eaters player from the start, the portion of this video dedicated to the interaction between the custode and the Emperor over the fate of Angron brought tears to my eyes. As the father of a troubled son, who thankfully does not have the ability to eat worlds, and the father of more than a few other seemingly quite gifted children, I know all too well what a father will do to protect the one seen as “flawed”. Your reading of these works are eloquent and as amazing as ever.

I'm really interested in how you evolve the stories from different perspectives. I love how the narrator perspective of the story hold the emperor as infallible, all mistakes only the result of betrayal. Always outside himself. Always a justification holding him blameless, or the ultimate victim of fate he battled against. But we have stories, perspectives, entire races and empires and nations for whom he is the villain. Who have other perspectives, and whom he betrayed. The way you set these up as vignettes makes it easy to run parallel stories, of similar events from other perspectives. Your notes in the description are such a tease...

You bring FEAR across so well, you make us truly understand, on a base dread level, how dark the future is. Please continue, we all love your work and appreciate your passion that you bring to each video.

Just finished...worthy of an ovation. So good. I was better able to hear the selected pieces of music as it progressed (more mindful perhaps). I also enjoyed the selection for the outro music. The selection of images and editing were superb. You guys are so talented, and you've truly mastered your craft. Well done indeed! Take care, and warmest regards. Know that a pittance of a contribution to patreon was contemplated but means do not currently suffice. Someday, when I am able...
