The Prince of Egypt" is one of the best animated films I ever seen. This movie is based on the Book of Exodus, and similar from "The Ten Commandments" in 1956 starring Charlton Heston. The story about Moses plucked from the Nile by the queen voiced by Helen Mirren. Moses voiced by Val Kilmer was raised with a natural rival with the Pharaoh's son Ramses voice by Ralph Fiennes. Moses learns the truth when he encounter his long-lost siblings Miriam voiced by Sandra Bullock, and Aaron voice by Jeff Goldblum. What's struck me watching it where Moses parted the Red Sea with great visuals of the animation, and it almost looks like special effects and live-action of the Red Sea.

Moses's mother is voiced by the singer Ophra Haza who is an Isralie singer and she passed away a while ago it was a sad loss because of how amazing her voice is and she says in Hebrew 'My little son don't dread and don't be afraid'. She wrote that song for the movie if I am not mistaken also she spoke many different laguages in her real life. I love this movie so much and how it stays true to the story of the bible as well. Grate reaction girls and glad you liked it. The actor that voices Ramses is the actor of voldamort in the Harry Potter movies haha it's interesting.

In college we watched this in film class as a example of how quickly animation was evolving and becoming both more complex and popular. One of my classmates and I would often sit and talk and as it turned out he was a youth pastor and remember how after we finished the movie we went to lunch and he told me "You know, i truly believe that with one hand God smited (smote?) Egypt while with the other He covered His face and wept as the Egyptians though misguided were His creations and children too." While i personally disagree with much of the Abrahamic religions I found his faith both beautiful and inspiring. Overall this and the other Dreamworks movie made in this time "Joseph King of Dreams" are excellent movies for the faithful and non-believers alike.

People forget some things: 1) By 14, you were an adult in society; only the last 100 years pushed it to 18. 2) The citizens of Egypt condoned slaves, practiced it even. 3) They also worshiped a man as a god. 4) Any truly leader will tell you that all accountability falls on the leader; good or ill. 5) Each plague was a showing of now God was more powerful than the Egyptian deities. 6) After each; God sent Moses to Ramases to give him another chance (9 before the smiting). 7) The final plague was more merciful than anything done by God's enemies, as he gave multiple outs before it and one during it; not to mention it was peaceful and non-violent like the babies. 8) God, despite knowing his stubbornness, let Ramases choose the events freely. 9) God gave warnings of the decisions' consequences. 10) As the giver and maker of life, he has every right to take your mortal life at any time. You still get your immortal one in the next life.
@LoveGodWithAllYourMight
@LoveGodWithAllYourMight 9 ай бұрын
In the bible, God told moses he would let pharo choose the final plague. And unfortunately he chose to re-create the slaughter of the first born, as a faithful Christian i believe it must have hurt God to do it but he is a man of his word and always keeps his word. he thankfully chose the swiftest and painless way possible and they would be in heaven with God himself. This movie shows that God always sees our suffering and plans to help us but he works thru people because if he came down from heaven and showed us his true form we would die because his presence evaporates sin which lives in all of us. But we will see him when we are in our heavenly bodies when he makes his brilliant return to us. The movie also shows that God is the ONLY true ruler in this world and he will not have his authority brought into question. Blessed be your name o' father in heaven 🙏

I am so glad you both got to watch this! I hope Ellie and Michelle do the same🙏🏼 this honestly, it’s probably the darkest animation movie out there even more dark than some of the darkest moments in Disney, because of all the first born in infant children, who were killed due to Ramses heart, becoming more hardened and disobeying the instructions God has instruct through Moses. But this also I hope gives a good highlight on the life story of Moses for all of you, and is what took place during that time, when the exodus occurred, and why it is behind, which is Moses, being in place to become pharaoh, but then realizes that he is Hebrew, and then God Almighty transforms his life, and then he becomes a shepherd/deliverer of his people the Hebrews out of Egypt, then came the 10 Commandments🙏🏼 in conclusion to get more read the book Exodus, Deuteronomy, numbers, Leviticus and then threw the rest of the Bible! It and the Author✝️will change all of you inside and out🙌🏼

idk if they don't like that old of movies, they probably won't like that. I respect its importance in movie history and all, but movies in that era are incredibly grating to a lot of people. Musical tones, means of speaking, etc. A lot of the time, the praise isn't for much other than the splendor of the sets. Rarely do the actual scripts merit the praise they get from people who convince themselves their cinema tastes are superior. I'd rather watch Broken Blossom ten times in a row than one 1950s film without MST3K/Rifftrax on top of it to mute the awful tones and soften the plot issues.

10/10 Superb! I could not fault this movie whatsoever, and I am shocked at the low rating. The animation is jaw-dropping, especially in The Plagues scene, which is still for me visually and musically one of the most haunting and evocative scenes in an animated film, and the part with the Red Sea splitting. The songs and music(by Hans Zimmer) are phenomenal. "When You Believe" is a standout, as is the title song. People complained about the story. There is nothing wrong with the story at all, other that it is complicated, but it is a biblical story after all. The voice talents are superlative, here we have Val Kilmer, Ralph Fiennes, Jeff Goldblum, Michelle Pfeiffer, Sandra Bullock, Steve Martin and Martin Short voicing fairly complex and beautifully-drawn characters flawlessly. I tend to worry about A Listers in animated films, but this, people, is a truly talented voice cast, who are truly excellent when they are given a good script, which was exactly what they got. All in all, a superb animated film, which isn't to be missed.

A lot of people are happy to talk about the Moses side, but as for why it was so easy to know Rameses would never submit: Pharaohs were considered the living embodiment of Ra, the king of the Egyptian gods. Funnily enough, this came to be because before, the wives of the pharaoh were considered the messengers/consorts of Ra, giving them divination and therefore power over the Pharaoh. Anyway, Rameses's entire life would be spent being told his father was the living Ra, and that once he ascended to the throne, so too would he. This is why he didn't die in the 10th plague, or any plague. Not only was he the one that had to say the Hebrews could be free, but this was God/Yahweh versus the living embodiment of Ra, and God wasn't going to let him go that easily, even though He could've.

Hey ladies thanks for the reaction. I was waiting for your reaction to this amazing movie hope you ladies loved it 😊 Also Lia and Viki the song is "When you Believe" by Mariah Carrey and Whitney Houston and it is up there with one of the greatest animation songs 😀 and the "Deliver us" song that gave us all chills was sung by the Israeli singer Ofra Haza 😊

Yes, the movie was pretty big from what I can remember when it came out in 98, but the song was even bigger it seemed

Hard to understand, unless you are adopted. Loving and honoring both families. Then comes marriage and the in-laws ;-) Leaving your home and parents, going to a new land ... is more common now than in the Bible.

if they aren't religious why should it matter? non religious people can watch religious movies if they want to, like religious people can buy medicine even though their so called "almighty being" should be able to cure any illness

Just another thing: the Book of Exodus is in the Bible, and it’s not a myth or folktale. It’s a huge part of my people’s (the Jews) history. Because my people actually were slaves all those millenniums ago and we did trek the deserts of Egypt, cross the Red Sea and journey through wilderness of the Sinai peninsula for 40 years to finally make a home in Israel.

The Bible isn’t a book of history . you can't prove that the stories written in the Bible are true And that’s what being religious is all about. You can't prove it but you believe it: faith
