Not quite. IMO he felt uncomfortable about how the palace forced the crown princess position and responsibilities onto her since a young age, and -- without consulting her -- one-sidedly decided that she must have wanted to be freed from it all. He presumed that she would take the opportunity to leave as soon as the opportunity arose, and so he quickly approved of the annulment to get it over with as quickly as possible. It's kinda stupid how much posturing he did to protect his own feelings out of a complete misunderstanding of how she would react, and how he basically sulked and waited for HER to proactively beg him to get back together.

agree, it's uncomfortable story, both male leads are disgusting like they see the female lead as a trophy, one is a user (crown prince) and the another is possesive/obsessive/sly (pope-because we wouldnt know if he is the one set up it all from the start because he is the owner of the temple) even in the end if the female lead doesnt fall to any male leads, it is good because she is a strong smart manpulative independent woman and her family background is too powerful

The crown prince is a nasty piece of work, but I don't find the pope any better. Neither of them seem to be taking Erisa's wishes in to account, they only care about what use she can be to them and/ or forcing their feelings on to her even after she has repeatedly stated her boundaries.
