Of course! They want everyone to watch silly cat videos and how to turn tupperware into a a flea circus. The Anti 2A community has its sights set on Firearm Videos ever since the most recent shooting incident because the shooter allegedly "Modified" his weapon because of a KZbin Video even though the alleged "Modification" was loading a 30 Round Magazine as opposed to the 10 Round Magazine NY allows one to have. Because Criminals are going to obey NY Gun Laws Right ? I will share the heck out of this video Greg. 👍🏼

They're still letting criminals run wild in LA to this day! Great story. Criminals don't want a porcupine. I found out only 2% of criminal cases go to trial. 8% are thrown out, and 90% are plea bargains. What was supposed to be a rarity, is now how prosecutors do business almost exclusively. You will never get ahead of crime handing out 5 month plea bargains for a 5 year crime.

Not only have I anticipated this video since you announced it, but now I get to wait in anticipation of Part 2 of an excellent look into Lance Thomas and his Tactics. Not many people have taken the time to address or discuss Mr. Thomas' Defensive Encounters and I believe they are extremely important to anyone who is serious about self defense. We can all relate to him for the simple fact that up until he decided to get a .38 Chief Special he was an ordinary man who was propelled into extreme circumstances that forever changed him as well as his life. There is a bitter sweetness to this that we must all learn as well. Although considered a Hero by many, an influence on us who exercise the right to defend ourselves, he sacrificed so much of himself in the long run and I hope wherever Mr. Lance Thomas is now that he has found some peace after all this time and that he got his wish of Feeling Alive Again. Thank You for exploring this topic and producing an excellent video Greg and I will be seeing you in Part II.

These types of videos based on real events, having real combative fights, with real consequences, are much more informative and beneficial than someone just creating a fictional scenario of what "might" happen. One very old, but true story that comes to mind is from my neck of the woods. It is about Samuel Whittemore from Massachusetts during the revolutionary war who was 78 years old. He was a farmer who was minding his own business working in his field, when he spotted a British brigade approaching back eastward after the battles in Lexington and Concord. Whittemore ran to the house and grabbed his musket and dueling pistols, he then ambushed the British by himself from behind a stone wall, firing and killing one soldier. He then drew his dueling pistols and killed a second soldier and mortally wounding another. He them dropped his guns, then drew his sword and attacked, he was shot in the face and bayoneted multiple times, then left for dead in a pool of blood. He was found by Colonial forces who saw him trying to reload his musket, he was taken to a Doctor who claimed that he would not survive his wounds. However Whittemore recovered from his wounds, living another 18 years to the age of 96, to go on in history as the oldest American Patriot in the American Revolution. Great video Greg, and I look forward to seeing what you have next.

I really enjoy how you produce and tell the tale in your videos Greg. Good example of someone deciding to find a way to survive and protect their livelihood, their patrons, and themselves. Shows self determination not to succumb to the heinous acts of others and looking forward to the part 2. You make a great point that somehow the idea that it is more important to be a passive victim than take a life to prevent a completely unacceptable and unethical violation of another humans existence and person. I bet there are no studies on how many victims in the UK have disastrous lives or worse yet end their lives than live with such a violation of inhumankind. What they do not talk about from what I have heard is how many street thugs sometimes called "Neds" roam the streets and commit crimes with knives and other edged weapons which to me is totally horrific. Someone mentioned him in a post from the video I posted on the smoke shop attempted robbery. I did some research and realized I'd read about him years before in a Massad Ayoob article. From what I researched he applied the analytical approach he used in repairing complex watches to self defense. No training courses or training schools; just research, practice and practical application.

Guts and gunpowder. My criticisms are not of his grit , but his choice of weapons . He used similar but not as effective handguns as legendary gunfighter Jim Cirillo. He used S&W model 10s backed up y a hammer shrouded Colt Cobra, and a last ditch 380 Walther Ppk. I still prefer revolvers and I would carry a 3or 4 round butt S&W model 10 , backed up by a Colt 2 inch D frame, either a hammer shrouded Colt Agent or Cobra or Steel frame Detective special. Since I am an expert shot with the short barrel Colts could also see carrying a pair of the fast into action, fast handling D frame Colts. The Colts , to me feel and shoot like mid size 4 inch revolvers. S&W J frames feel and shoot like small revolvers. If I picked a 9mm for backup, it in that time period have been a Browning High Power. A better Choice as Jim Cirillo picked would have been an M1. Carbine loaded with 110 gr softppint ammo, it was and is a devastating close range weapon. With a 30 round mag and 2 15 rounders on the butt stock you have 60 rounds at hand, if you need more , install a heavy duty M2 mag release spring, clip 2 , 30rounders together and your last ditch weapon has 90 rounds . Beats the hell out of a 9mm, and at the range of a pistol gunfight more accurate. The M1 fired indoors without hearing protection sounds no worse than a 38.

That was the second gunfight with an organized five man crew. One driver, one standby, and three entered the store, one shooting a .25 auto that hit Thomas in the shoulder four times and the neck once. Thomas fired once, missed, and then put five more into the guy. At the time he had four guns staged, three .357 medium framed guns loaded with Glaser safety slugs and his Chief Special. He picked up the Chief Special shot five rounds at robber number two; missing all five rounds the robber fled. Thomas picked up a third gun and the phone to call 911. While talking to police, the third robber began firing. Thomas unloaded all six rounds, sending this robber to join the first robber to a one way ticket to the morgue.

@@LionquestFitness In the 70's there were so many guys in bars in my area carry a .25 it was like wearing a watch. Geez, some over the worst guns possible Jenning, Sterling, Raven, all along those lines!

Rapscallions,,haven't heard that from you in a while. As far as self defense,it's better to defend yourself than to be a victim.I have several firearms stationed around my house so that I'm never more than a few steps away from the means to defend myself. Some may think that's overkill but I do go to sleep at night feeling safe and secure.

There are no guarantees. Compliance is no guarantee of safety. Resistance is no guarantee of safety. Depends. A man's gotta know what he's capable of. If you want a guarantee - buy a toaster.

There exist in the world bad people. Under no circumstances should anyone submit themselves to another for the greater good. That lawyers sentiment is severely twisted. Being a victim of such an encounter is what breeds alot of the crime we have. Especially if that happens to a young person they may feel society has failed them and turn to a life of crime in order to cope with the trauma. Or worse they think that's how the world works. The ability to defend yourself and others is a right and a duty.

Great story & example. Once the bad guys are after you it is up to you and your mindset to get you out of the situation. Sheep are slaughtered at the discretion of the predator. DO NOT BE A SHEEP!

You would think word would have gotten around that you're fixin to get smoked if you try strong arming this man. Also, that dandy English lawyer is who is morally repugnant and obscene.

I kind of compared it to Daniel Boone and the Shawnees where after several decades of hair-raising fights and escapes it became a deadly challenge of who could kill Boone first. Ironically, after both the Shawnees and Boone were both kicked out of Kentucky and lived together under the Spanish in Missouri, they often congregated and reminisced about the old times. As for Lance Thomas, after receiving word that the gangs were going to start doing drive by shootings to kill customers, he closed his shop for good and faded into obscurity. A wise and thoughtful decision on his part.

@@LionquestFitness Thank you kindly for the neat story about Boone, Greg. He's someone I've always admired. Its a shame Mr. Thomas didn't put all those brigands in the ground. These people targeting innocent people because they couldn't get to him is ridiculous.

SC may go to Constitutional Carry, but I plan on keeping my CCW. It is just an added layer of protection; especially if you travel out of state.

Some of the Brits are brain washed and others would love to have the rights we in the U.S. have. Nice stable of guns Greg. I've got 2 of the three of those guns and instead of a model 10 I have a model 19 combat magnum. I love my old guns. Tried and true. Those combat grips are killer for sure.
