At range it should, no SMG should be able to compete with a rifle at range. It's ridiculous that SMGs can pop you across the map in this game, rifles should be dominant but they're not because SHG are listening to "pro players" when it comes to weapon balance.

...if all the shots hit. It won't be all the time that both shots will hit first try, unless the user is a god at aiming. That and the ping, and lowest capacity in class. Reload frequently, and have chances to be caught off guard more frequently than someone with an SVT-40 or M1A1. Love the ping, but it sucks for stealth. Extended mags fixes it, but it's just not the same. Fun tip: The M1 reloads faster on empty than when partially empty, even with extended mags.

CamaroKidBB In pro games, ping and lag are non existent. It's exactly like the FAL from black ops2, it was just simply the best despite countless nerfs, so they just banned it completely from competitive, because they like variety in gun selection in competitions. (I love this gun)

I don’t foresee it being nerfed. Rapid fire is banned from rank play and it’s not nearly as good with the slower fire rate. I have used it with the good attachments on it, and if you take your time with your shots it is a good gun. Just doesn’t need nerfed.
