Such a powerful and important sermon! I think for many of us Christians in Canada, we are severely spiritually malnourished because there are so very few really Biblical churches anymore. There are lots of church buildings full of lots of people - some of them even Christian. But we've been spiritually starved for years; decades, even. So when the lockdowns came, it hasn't seemed like a big deal to just do "online church" for most people. There's so little difference between what they were doing before and what they are doing now, right? But for a small remnant of us, we were already aware of these problems, and are seeing them even more clearly now than before. The Lord is judging our churches. May He use these terribly dark times to sanctify His bride and bring glory to His name!

Great sermon. I agree wholeheartedly. We are blessed to be in a church that closed for the first couple weeks and have been open ever since. They will not shut down unless we are barred from going in. The powers that be have been harassing us, but we continue to press into Christ. More than ever we need to be a body that prays together, lays hands on the sick, feeds the hungry, talks to the broken, and worships the King of Kings in community. God is moving in our church, in the lives of the people, how many can say that they are growing in Christ via zoom? I've felt the Holy Spirit like never before. I'll keep standing for Christ till He takes me home.

I live in Red Deer Alberta. About 5 years ago I personally visited the majority of 'churches' in the city. My message was simple. The Christian community needs to collectively get outside the walls of the church and BE the 'lamp on a stand' in our own city. I was met with annoyed impatience and polite indifference. I was shocked and saddened by the utter lack of faith in Jesus and the great commission. Fast forward to 2021. I am sadly not surprised by the vast majority of 'churches' being spiritually dead today. I would suggest now is the time for faithful Christians to gather at those churches that we now know are true God honoring, Jesus praising, Bible teaching churches.

No. The Bible says to tithe, and we tithe to GOD not to the church. We tithe out of obedience to God, not because of obedience to the church. Those churches has mortgages and utilities to pay. In Canada we have winter. We can't allow pipes to freeze. It is not the church that expects the tithe. It is God who commands it. That is not the answer.

The church in Asia - the east, is underground and unlike the church in the west, is not looking for recognition by secular government authorities to benefit from the tax exemptions and charitable organization structure. In the west, we still cling to being recognized and straddle with profitability and membership by partnering with the government. We want our cake and eat it too. If we resist looking and listening to what the Lord is saying about looking East, we will be in for a rude awakening. The church in the East, though underground and unregistered, is a model of where we, in the western church are looking with admiration, but we still straddle the fence. Persecution is intensifying. Choose this day Whom you will serve, even if it means going to the catacombs where the early church met to avoid the authorities of that day.

In the new testament we are clearly told to obey those in athority over us. Anarki should not be found in the church! Most sinners( unsaved) do not go to church
