Thanks so much for this video! My 1991 740 turbo wagon was experiencing the exact same problem. Swapped out the MAF sensor, spark plugs, ignition leads, ignition control module, crank position sensor and cleaned up the IAC motor to no avail. Found your video and checked out the cap which was relatively new but an inexpensive ebay item, it looked good but look sare deceiving. Installed the original Bosch unit which was well worn and the wagon ran perfectly. Thanks again for this video! New OEM cap is ordered and on it's way.

Sometimes cleaning the contacts up doesn't work at all. Did that on mine and saved the 740 for a bit but left me stranded afterwards. (luckily at a mates place) Getting a new set fixed it right up.

My '92 940 was missing on the #2 cylinder. It was the distributor cap/rotor.

Was it missing? My 95' 940 misses at low speed. Runs great at high speed
