Also check sensor cable where it passes boot through underfloor left side storage box. On my Volvo 940 the cable was damaged by impact there 😊 I also had broken track on speedometer head PCB ( I believe this damage occurs when speedometer sensor cable is shorted ) 🧐

For mine it was only the soledring. Wires and sensor was ok for my car
