simple. we eventually will reach a new standard of 'perfection'. so long as the creators are genuinely passionate about their creations and have fun with what they are doing, we will reach a higher height of quality and therefore, a new standard of perfection.

its kinda ironic how a huge theme in arcane is about how humans and art is flawed and perfection is impossible without giving up humanity. than they proceed to make the most perfectly well written and animated masterpiece ever.

Arcane is so good that it singlehandedly ended all debate I have about what I want to do in life. I have always wanted to be a creative but have been hesitant due to all the classic artist feelings. This show took it away, convinced me that no matter what I have nothing else in me but the desire to strive to create something like it.

@@Bubblegum-rv2tfsounds good, doesn't work. if you depend on external influence to push a career, they will eat you for breakfast ,you won't even make it through the door, especially in the current economy. 90% of the people who plan on becoming a full time artist bail out very early for these exact reasons. the rest don't particularly dream about being one, they just make art because they want to, and no matter what you tell them, they will keep doing it. you think I'm putting someone down because you don't consider how much time and money people waste on these endeavors before they learn the hard way that they were chasing an illusion. you wanna do it then better get real

I will chase not to recreate arcane but to recreate a story, an artistic masterpiece that will make me feel more than what arcane, more than any other story I have read or watched. I just turned 17, and I have found, you. You who are true to yourself and walk in this journey of discovery, and have just went through a breakthrough. Remember the name “Damon Legislogia” although it is not my own neither is it known throughout the world yet, I hope that one day his story will shine as a bright star in the sky.

The money aspect is overblown, big movies from pixar or illumination are more expensive, the problem isnt how much it costs, but where that money is put. In Arcane the money is put directly on the art, the people that actually make the product, meanwhile in big Hollywood productions artists are overworked and underpaid while executives and overhyped individuals get all the budget. That and obviously the very different approach Riot has compared to Hollywood. Riot is playing a long game, its not simply about making money right now, Arcane probably doesnt even pay itself and relies on league. However what Arcane does (and any other future projects) is advertise the IP and their current games, but also future games and shows. One big project they have in the works is an MMORPG, people are already hyped about it, but once they have a few movies and shows displaying how beautiful the Runeterra world is and they release that game allowing people can finally explore Zaun and Piltover, Noxus and Ionia, etc, when that they comes it will be raining gold inside Riot's offices.

That is so so so true! And it makes me sad to see the overwhelming majority of the industry isn't focusing on putting the money in the right places

Humans are flawed, nowhere near perfect. Arcane is not perfect, sure, it's close, but it's not perfect. Not even the first season. It's hard to accept that you will never be perfect in your craft. There is always someone better, something to improve. When I saw Arcane I was in a tumultuous time in my life, struggling to figure out what I wanted to do with my future. After I finished it I knew for sure that I wanted to write and create stories like it. Will I ever make something on Arcane's level? Probably not, but I want to try.

Definitely an exaggeration. These type of shows did exist way back then, see Breaking Bad or The Sopranos. Even bigger if we count movies. Certainly a classic though!

@artsandgoodies46534 күн бұрын
I think the problem is the idea of “perfect” when applied to art. Art is subjective and perfect is an objective describer. Art can never be perfect and trying to do art thinking about siming for perfection is a terrible idea that hinders progress. As a watcher using perfect to describe something you watch only sets you up for failure. Imagining a “perfect” show is a ridiculous standard that will never be achieved the same way by any two different people, let alone a whole group of people. “Masterpiece” is a far better term to use when quantifying art. Its gets across the same message without having to muddy the water of spplying an objective term to a subjective topic.

Yeah, for sure we'll never get to perfection, it doesn't exist. But it's still interesting to "freeze" the specific feats for animation we got with Arcane season 2 and get inspired by it, y'know? Even if we know our standard of perfection will rise eventually. It's fun to see the movements of the waves ✨
@solarydays6 күн бұрын
@@chickensalad3535 debetable. season 1 is very well written no doubt, on a technical level. however what it presents is just very bad people doing very bad things to each other. now this is an existing genre but it works best with shows that represent real life ( successor, industry etc ). while I can enjoy craftmanship by itself, I'm not sure why one would choose to make the vast majority of the character psychopaths in a fantasy show. They changed this in season 2 but now it's just not consistent and any character development that could have possibly resulted in this change happens off screen. you are just supposed to assume something was there, but they didn't actually write it.
