This is an awesome video. I really like seeing your use of a few colors to start with when you were drawing Vi, and how you had precise applications of strokes to create her jawline and her facial features. Then the addition of more colors and the focus around the eyes and nose and lips to reach a really lovely result in a short time. This was really valuable for me!

I always get bogged down with lineart and get caught up on details that are either not really noticeable to begin with, or that end up getting lost in the final render (I say as though my pieces ever get to the "final render" stage lol) and have never really painted before, but this looks like and is a fantastic introduction to a style that could be the changeup I need to not only elevate my work and my process in general, but actually get me to FINISH my works! Especially considering I've little to no experience working with color, as I come from a traditional background where I used exclusively pencils to color in greyscale.

Actually I want to share something important to get the Arcane art style. I strongly believe the art style is based off from studying the planes of the head and face. Generally I think this can apply to clothes and the body. If you study the planes using the Asaro head as reference, and second reference image with good shadows and light it will help you study how the animators and artists paint in the Arcane style.

studying other styles is driving me insane. i've never done it for the 8 years of my drawing journey (i'm self-taught :')) and now it's so difficult even to move my wrist in a different way to study another technique. like, i actually have to think about why and where things go and it messes with my brain because i don't understand 😭😭 so for those who are just starting - don't be me. do your studies ಠ﹏ಠ thank you for the video

Hi, thank you so much, i'm doing a special Jinx and Isha drawing, from now on i will trust more in the colors and the way they blend in order to actually form the face of the characters.. i usually rely so much in lineart which turns out really tiring! 😿🙏🙌

Of course! But when we adapt the arcane technique for painting, we rely on values to create that 3d effect

Stop focusing on brushes. This question is always so annoying and almost always asked by begginer artists. You could do everything in this video with a hard round brush and the smudge tool, focus on your fundamentals.
