The Problem With Akademiks & Joe Budden's Bias

DJ Akademiks and Joe Budden are easily the biggest figures in hip hop media, and with both journalists / podcasters being very outspoken within the Drake and Kendrick Lamar beef, it's important to dissect whether their bias on both parties is problematic towards the future of journalism and how we consume information.

I think Joe was pretty fair during the whole beef, his analysis was honest and he admitted he was speaking to Drake throughout the whole beef but still kept it honest. Ak's bias is a lot more obvious and dangerous

The unfortunate thing about Ak is his bias was and is deranged but when he has clarity, he’s actually sort of enjoyable… sometimes. SOMETIMES lol. He’s a strange animal, that’s for sure. When I think about it, Joe was balanced. There were times it seemed like he wasn’t and leaned towards Drake’s end but that’s just my perception. In hindsight, it did seem like he tried to be as balanced as possible considering he was in touch with Drake throughout the whole thing. He was quite fair to Kendrick especially when Ish was stuck in his delusion lol. Listen, Ak is wild but Mal and Ish were hard to watch! They were committed to their bias to the point where it seemed like it was physically disturbing them to hear otherwise lol. I get it- it’s upsetting when you’re wrong.

Akedemiks is sooooooooo lame. I used to listen to DJ Akademiks before he was on Everyday Struggle. And then once he was on Everyday Struggle, I started to realize that Joe Budden has way better takes on the rap industry then academics ever had and I completely stopped listening to academics and started listening to Joe Budden long before the Kendrick and Drake beef. And he has to be on Drake’s payroll for him to be sloppy slurping Drake during this entire L fest. I know presidents with better takes on rap than Ak

I think everybody is allowed to feel and report how they want to on their platform. The audience is generally aware of the biases that exist in rap news culture. That’s normally why we chose to turn into someone orc why we know it’s probably best for us to not watch their content. I watch both, although I watch AK more. But KDot is my winner and in my opinion, Drake never stood a chance. The sound of Drakes voice annoys me 😂 but I think it’s funny AF to watch AL squirm and make excuses while he tries to sit on his Champagne Papi’s lap 😂
