A fall off in music is a broad term. With rappers like Eminem, Jay-Z, Kanye West, 50 Cent, Andre 3000 (Outkast), Lil Wayne, Drake and more all aging, it's interesting to see the way each of them have aged into the later halves of their careers.
In this video, we're going to dissect the biggest fall-offs in all of hip-hop and analyze why these would be considered "fall-offs".

On there's no sugar coating it. 50 definitely fell off lol. In terms of musical appeal and quality of albums....he fell off. He was never the same after Graduation beat Curtis and his albums(and numbers) got worse and worse until he just stopped making music and focused on acting and buisness. No one was even checking for 50 by the time of his last LP "Animal Ambition" in 2014. That is a fall off. Wayne is different because he just up and stopped making music when he was still relatively hot.

I don't agree with the Wayne one bro. Carter 5 broke the record for most first day streams for an album that year, in 2018. That record was only broken by Drake. It also went gold in a week. He's a legacy act making music for fun now. His 2020's feature run is magnificent.

50, Wayne and 3k never fell off, they just backed off Edit: maybe Wayne, Wayne is so loved but his first week sales are so low 50 was on top from 2003-2008. Curtis sold over 700k as Kanye sold 900k on graduation. 700k is still a lot since his 2nd album “the massacre” sold 1.15 million first week. 50 did make two more albums after Curtis which you where wrong about that. His album after “before I self destruct” sold 100-200k which was falling low. 50 is a legend but he didn’t really change his style, get rich or die trying, the massacre and curtis are classics and great albums.

Ngl, had to click off the video just off that first sentence. 3K never fell off, he just completed the mission and is living life. Every OutKast album pushed barriers, introduced new sounds, and still charted. The way him and Big Boi rapped while being able to bring the whole South to the top with him like he stated at the 96 Source Awards (the South's got something to say) is just prime example. Even today the south is still a gateway for rappers from other coasts to blow up, especially Atlanta.

Did he tho BISD went gold it didn't really seem like bro left by choice because he wanted to drop Street King Immortal and never did I think it was because he was afraid it would do those same numbers because Gold for 50 standards it's a flop and he never had a album with hits like that post 2007 But 50 has no one to blame but him he beefed almost the entire industry he was beefing with almost every borough in NY Onyx (QB), Nas (QB), Lost Boyz (QB), Ja Rule (QB), Fat Joe (BX), Lil' Kim (Brooklyn), Hov (Brooklyn), Shyne (Brooklyn), The Lox (Yonkers), Cam'ron (Harlem) So when you fall nobody from NY that has major influence can help propel you back to the top because your beefing with all them then you dissing Jimmy who cuts your checks and saying your Curtis Interscope Jackson then You get into with Game which was the biggest West Coast rapper that was new and not from the 90s before you go all tryna correct me and stuff so that probably didn't help yeah he had Dre but Dre wasn't getting in that and he got back cool with Game in 08 when 50's downfall started

Basically i think 50's fall off musically because he's killing it on TV right now Was Burning too many bridges important ones at that The same problem people say with Game and burning bridges 50 has too the difference is 50 seen this and transitioned over to something else and kept his relevancy also him burning all those bridges made his downfall easier kind of like Dame Dash He was seen as hard to work with by people Steve Stoute higher ups Jay was seen as easier to work with so when Jay moved away from Dame Dame burned all those bridges whereas Jay kept those relationships and went straight to the top so when Jay and Dame Split it made it easy for Dame to fall-off because Dame had no one at the top to come help him up same thing i think happened with 50 But 50 bounced back from that and transitioned to TV and now look he has a cult like fanbase in these comments 2019 was a way different story he didn't have Stans like that🤣

@@Somebodys-unc If that’s the case why isn’t Big Boy in the same convo as 3k ? No one says Big Boy is one of the best anything. Just like what 3k did with OutKast he could do for himself because he always had creativity. 3k is a goat because of what he could bring to the game. @mathisleyenda8724 your right.. can't debate that.. and yes 3k had them verses and I agree he was the better of the two.. but his place as a solo artist would've been hard cause at that time, the duo was the wave.. n he didn't have the charisma to rock a whole stage the entire night like a t.i and Luda back then.. big and 3k needed each other.. like I had his solo album. My fav song still is prototype.. like his imagination was elite.. he can flip anything.. but I can't give him goat.. like if this was mk, he probably be a raidin or fujin. He wasn't lu Kang nor a scorpion.. to me, he wasn't even a rapper he was a poet and big was the rapper.. when u hear 3k on some of his song, u be wanting to snap ya fingers or nod ya head.. only a few songs u wanna jump n dance unless it was the complete outkast experience

Fam… these artists are in their mid to late 40’s… Why should they see still be trying to dominate a genre that is geared towards a younger and more trendy audience? After all, its called HIP hop… How many 40 year olds do you consider hip? Even Drake looks a bit crazy with his subject matter in his late 30’s trying to stay relevant. These artists did not fall off. They grey up and so did their audience. They, like we, have different interests. We don’t believe the ball to you fall nonsense anymore and we’re not all trying to catch the latest album from ANYONE. The kids definitely are checking for artist who were popular in the early 2000’s… These artists didn’t go out like lil pump or smoke purpp… Did they really fall off or did they just grow up? 🙄
