The Problem with Minecraft on Xbox

Update! This video is gaining traction out of nowhere, so there's a few things I need to say before I get flooded with more comments. 1. I've been playing on an Xbox One S. I've been told apparently the Xbox Series consoles load the game in like 10 seconds. The performance portion of the video might be inaccurate entirely. 2. "Why don't you get a PC/get Java?" For my whole career, I've been playing on Xbox until Christmas 2022 when finally I got a PC. This video was made to express my hatred for things that's been bugging me. Despite making videos, I couldn't just simply get a computer. 3. "How do you get mods, skins and packs on Xbox?" I don't really know anymore lol. After I made this video I've been under a rock with Xbox modding. Any questions? Leave them below here.

Less of a question and more of a theory: I think the load times might be the first sign/test of planned obsolescence for games on “older” Microsoft consoles. It would make more sense since Microsoft owns Minecraft and they want players to buy their shiny new systems because money.

Not just Xbox , every console, they disrespected the fans and ruined this games legacy when they released bedrock on all consoles. I don't mind Bedrock edition, I like it. However, no one talked about how horrible the game was, it was laggy and filled with so many unnecessary bugs, completely disregarding that they screwed and replaced legacy edition over this trash. Don't get me wrong,it's improved alot but it's still terrible and there's still bugs everywhere. Ive lost my respect for the whole developers and Microsoft, theyve lost touch , are going a route that no one wants and only give a dam about the marketplace and disregard everything else that matters. I love Minecraft, but this ain't it. It's sad honestly.

Very well made video man, I got onto minecraft yesterday on my 1S for the first time in years and was greeted with all my childhood survival and creative worlds with countless memories corrupted and inaccessible. What was even more annoying was that when I tried deleting these worlds for storage purposes, it wouldn't let me. Thanks for raising awareness on such a shitty system that's gone relatively unnoticed. Hopefully it gets fixed

My issue is that just playing the game kind of sucks. Like whenever I’m moving or doing anything my screen will freeze every once and a while for like a millisecond which is very annoying. Another thing is just the amount of laggy bugs there are. For instance, accessing the inventory, chests, crafting tables, all of it just takes me like a solid two three seconds and then crafting, picking up, and moving items is so clunky. It’s laggy and just makes the game kind of unplayable. I don’t know if my issues are related to the older console I’m playing on or what, it just sucks I find myself not enjoying playing very much because of these issues.

Great vid! But i think you forgot to mention that the performance got even worse, I recently dusted off my Xbox 360 and turned on bedrock and it at the same time, Bedrock took 17 MINUTES to load onto a world plus the menus Console edition only took 1 minute

What console type are you on? Because if it's a last gen Xbox like the xbox one S, then it makes sense for most these issues. But even when I had a one S my Minecraft ran fine, I never got pink glitch not once. But now I have series S and the game loads super fast and it only takes about 1 minute for my skins to load in.

This wasn’t just the first time Minecraft worlds get corrupted. Back before bedrock was even a thing, on the 360 version your worlds can get corrupted, if you try playing the game with the corrupted game files your whole console would crash

My friend can’t join his own realm for some reason, he paid money to set up a realm for all of us and it was fun at the start, but 3 months later, he paid for the realm again to keep the server up but this time he can’t join his own realm but we could, but one day he was able to join into the world but every time he spawns he’s not able to break blocks and interact with things, on are screen he’s not moving at all, just standing there, even though he’s moving on his screen and he can see us move to, but when he dies, it takes forever for him to respawn or not spawn at all. So he got ripped off and can’t play in his own realm anymore, after that time we just gave up and stopped playing minecraft bedrock and just moved on to other games now, this only happen a week ago and it sucks we had to Abandon are world, but that’s the Xbox bedrock experience I guess.

I've considered Minecraft to be dead on consoles ever since Better Together came out. I used to be more lenient, thinking it was just going through growing pains, but when I realized it had been SIX YEARS since it replaced the old console editions and it still fell short of that version's standard, I completely gave up. Bedrock's okay on PC and mobile, but Minecraft on all consoles is a thing of the past.

i used to play bedrock edition a long time ago on xbox and i switched to PC and java at some point and i am really sad to see some of the things that have happened i had similar issues to random world corruptions, and i also used to play with some custom texture packs and even some shaders that i was able to download which was super cool to be able to do on xbox i think i switched before they got rid of all of that but it’s really sad to see, like it almost seems like the developers want you to quit the game, like what ever happened to trying to make the game better and making the game appealing? everything about this video just makes me incredibly happy that i have been playing java edition for more than 3 years now

From a person that used to play mc on XBOX it was really decent until they starting updating it, taking almost a hour until a single update and to the cursor on your screen being huge. Pc is a lot better with the fps increase and a more substantial way to play Minecraft. Good Video!

Its almost like Microsoft is just pissing on anyone who buys Bedrock edition. AND THEY ARE INSENTIVISED TO MAKE IT GOOD. my friends gave up on playing realm survival because it of tweaked hostile mob behavours that make it harder on all difficulties (besides peaceful ofcourse). It just became frustrating. Some examples: -Zombies have practically the same reach as you, so they tend to hit you first a lot more. - skeletons fire faster, to the point that the only effective way to kill them is to let them die to sheild bounceback. -I'm pretty sure Creepers are faster or explode quicker

I try to play every once in a while... But I get very little time to play with three kids anymore. It takes incredibly long to boot up the game, even longer to sync everything etc, and then I load in for a while to find it instantly crashes on the first attempt as soon as I load in. It's bad when ark survival evolved is running more smoothly than your game... Even Bethesda games haven't crashed in a couple years for me, unless I really fucked up the load order.

The whole keyboard problem is on every bedrock version except phones or tablets and computers too. At first I thought it was only a ps4 thing but a lot of the versions have similar keyboard issues as well. The only one that works well is phone and tablet.

When that update happened that corrupted worlds. I lost my survival world that I played on for years. Kind of. I had a creative back up of it where I would test build ideas. I was in the end on that world. And strangely that was the only save that didn’t get corrupted? But now I can’t get any achievements on that world. Since the back up was my creative one.

I never really used commands on my series s. Only the basic ones on the rare occasion I'm testing something on a creative world. And I've never downloaded anything externally for minecraft. So I wouldn't know those issues. But, with everything else, I've never had these issues. Loading up a realm or a world has always taken me at most up to a minute. And that's on a bad day. Usually, it only takes a few seconds. Hardly ever experience crashes or large amounts of lag. The only time I lag is when I'm in the late game, and I have multiple farms running at once, and that's on a realm. My game never lags on a world of my own. And this goes the same with my friends, I haven't heard any complaints over the years of any of these issues. Very weird video on how people are getting all these issues. You guys must be on the older generations of xbox.

i lost my world that was 10+ years old because of the bedrock update, how is it possible that i was able to move my world from the 360, a world made in 2012 before the game even released on disc, pre hunger bar/sprint, to the xbox one with no problem, an entirely different console, and then an update just completely destroys that? i did have a super old backup from the xbox one version of the game, but i lost so much the world was barely recognisable given ive basically used bedrock on xbox since it released(around 2016 on xbox, but i'd used the windows 10 edition on pc around late 2015) i have no clue how microsoft have managed to make xbox, their own platform the worst place to play a game that they own :// legacy console miecraft wasnt perfect like people say, but it was so much better ive been playing java edition since 2010 and maybe im blinded by nostalgia but the game feels like it doesnt have a soul anymore, everything seems to be profit driven today, thank god my friend told me about the microsoft account merging or i wouldve lost my almost 14 year old java account last year

I think there’s another bug but with just Minecraft not Xbox that annoys me so much. I have 180 Hz monitor and other games I can get 120 FPS but on Minecraft they just cap it out at 60. I remember before I was able to get to 120 but now it’s just 60 FPS or unlimited and unlimited, feels the exact same as 60.

You can't easily downgrade it, because there is no Xbox disc version of bedrock. It is available for PS4 though. Are you sure that is an old backup? Since it is in the UWP files, is that before the update and failed conversion? Also there is a free trial for new members of realms. It would be possible to try and fix it, but complicated to implement that in automated programming with no issues. Weird how the realm files got corrupted.

Had the same glitch about the minecraft loading forever. But I brought the newest Xbox and it now loads up in like 2 seconds
