totally agree! they really missed an opportunity to add depth & complexity to the character . . . it would have been so interesting to see them further explore the idea of moral ambiguity and have her reckon with the consequences of her decisions

Snow White and Charming pretty much became background characters that were for some reasons in every episode. Apart from that one episode in season 6(?) about Charming's father's death, which focused equally on Charming and /hook, so not even a Charming-centric episode, they have no story, no character arc, nothing. They just... do stuff. Only to have something to do.

We should’ve got more character development with Snow and charming and how they made terrible decisions and how they could deal with it like other characters, but season 4 and 5 dropped a lot of storylines.

in end of season 5 she was all ready to become the 'snow white' she once was and regain her identity, just for she quit all that and go back to being mary margaret in early s6 this was honestly an interesting arc that could've addressed how she and others have changed since the curse and that this is their identity and lives now that would never be the same and they gotta accept it, but the series wasted the potential of this storyline

Unfortunately, it was probable reason they cut all the potential character development was the ratings boost they wanted, if I remember hearing they took a dip during season 2, I’m still asking why build up a cast of characters of the town’s folk only to sidelines them as well OR being poorly written off (Ruby), be completely subdued (Mulan/Dr. Whale/Blue Fairy) or not use them at all (Nurse Rachett would’ve made an intimidating antagonist) good actors but deserved better. Oh and the Rumple and Belle was played up to 9, we get it the relationship is bittersweet or toxic.
