@verda_renee3 жыл бұрын
Not a lie in sight! People don't care about health they literally only care about desirability. Two women can literally weight the exact same amount with the same amount of fat on them but if one has a flat stomach and weight concentrated to her thighs and butt, nobody will have any issue whereas if the other has weight concentrated in their belly or arms or back etc they will concern-trolled about their "health". That's how you know it's not about heath or even how much fat you have, it's fully about how you look and how desirable you are to the masses. It's so blatant.
@mjohnson1jr3 жыл бұрын
I Was literally about to comment people only care about the Image of health not the actual benefits. Then cover it up with ohhhh but it’s the truth even documentary’s have doctors say it. BP already have the highest numbers of health issues across the board (diabetes, cancer, hypertension, high cholesterol, etc.) and it’s because of our diet. This is way deeper than that and I think they’re promoting unhealthy foods to BP. We really need to consider our diet and health as a culture regardless of size.

I just wanna say I really appreciate your videos about fatphobia. Ever since i was 8 I've been insecure about my weight. My parents and auties were constantly on me about how much I was eating and would make snarky comments about how big I was even though was just a lil chubbierthan other kids. This has continued even in the times in my life when I wasn't fat and affected the way I valued myself. In high school my weight fluctuated alot cause I would go on stupid diets and than gain the weight right back because I had ( and still do) a terrible relationship with food. Long story short, I'll be 20 and recently realized how bad internalized fatphobia has affected. Your videos have helped me value myself more and also not to be fatphobia to others. Of course, I have alot of work to do internally. But, I just wanted you to know that your videos are truly helpful and make a difference! ❤ P.S. sorry is my spelling and grammar is off lol

i’m fat, and i’m tired of people dragging skinny ppl for enjoying food. her being skinny, and fit, and being able to eat junk, shouldn’t matter to us. we know that others wouldn’t like fat ppl to do this, but that isn’t HER fault. we shouldn’t push that on her to be our advocate for people to stop judging fat people and treating them wrong. i understand it hurts that people treat us this way but doing things like this is what makes people feel like they don’t have the right to eat or ever speak out against food because it makes fat people upset. it’s no better than a skinny person shaming us for having one meal. you guys go after someone who advocates for mcdonald’s wether we think it’s unhealthy or not, we sure as hell have no room to talk and we’re no better than the next man. we shouldn’t speak badly abt skinny ppl just bc other people treat us like shit for being fat at the end of the day that is THAT persons issue with us, we shouldn’t group the skinny community into one whole and make them feel like they can’t do anything when it comes to food, tbh I’m kinda disappointed in this video.

I personally love her though lol. 😭💔

Yep I’m almost 4 minutes in and I think I catch his drift. This isn’t to dismiss his perspective, as he makes valid points, but Saweetie doesn’t strike me as a problematic person or someone that weaponizes their desirability, or is colorist or anything like that so whenever he critiques her for a system she happens to benefit from I don’t know it feels misplaced almost. It’s like when people criticize Zendaya for always being fancasted for roles she doesn’t really deserve , I personally think it’s bigger than her, she does benefit from the system but I don’t think she helps feed into it if that makes sense.
@moonlite17523 жыл бұрын
He’s jealous and making unproblematic things a problem. Simple. Someone can say he’s “attacking a black woman” bc he didn’t feel the need to make a video about black men (or other “desirable” celebs) that partnered w/ McDonald’s. (Not saying that’s what he’s doing, just making a point.) Also, overweight black ppl have been in the Burger King commercial but he didn’t make a video praising it.🤔 It’s BS.🤷

@@moonlite1752 No, Justin does make a valid point. By Saweetie being biracial, light skin, snatched, sexy etc. she can get away with certain things that someone who don’t look like her (fat, dark complexion, fully black) can’t. But to act like Saweetie herself promotes colorism, fatphobia and the likes is misplaced criticism. She may benefit from the system but Saweetie herself doesn’t enforce strict beauty standards or colorism or anything of the likes herself. For the most part she’s just inoffensive to me.

What is your issue with Saweetie? She's not supposed to get attention because she's light-skinned and thin? I just feel like you're trying to make black women really be riled up about colorism and weight in regards a damn McDs meal. You're way too hung up on this and like you even mentioned, you didn't have this energy for Travis Scott with his meal. You can say that you don't follow him----well, I don't follow Saweetie, but you're speaking on it. Just seems like you want black women who are darker-skinned or overweight to be angry at or intimidated by Saweetie because u are. It's like you're angry she can eat whatever she wants to and not have to worry about her weight---yet because she's young. We all know weight catches up with you over 35, if you don't get it in check but you're a little too worked up about this. It's bizarre.

Because corporations don’t want you to associate their food with being unhealthy/overweight, subconsciously people won’t want to buy it. Honestly, it has absolutely nothing to do with her being attractive nor does it have anything to do with her being light skinned. It has everything to do with the psycholgy of how advertising works, ESPECIALLY in relation to food and even more specifically fast food. No restuarant wants to have someone in the forefront that is going to have a negative affiliation as well as a negative correlation. Being heavy, you already are thought of as a slob who doesn't eat properly or exercise so why would McDonald's or any restaurant want people to represent them as that. Everyone knows fast food can and will make you gain weight but you cannot put someone that visually represents that in the forefront for the public to see. So that is why Lizzo is a no go. She is some beautiful thick chocolate but she doesn't fit the status quo unfortunately so that's why saweetie being thin is seen as a great image for a restuarant.
