Honestly, I think the whole child-thing - although being super awesome (love that intro!) - was only the case for SSB64. For Melee, Brawl and SSB4 (let's just stick with this name because the other two shortcuts suck), I see it more like the real deals fighting in an alternate universe that uses to happen parallel to each character's game storyline. The trophies we get here would be prizes the characters get for messing up those sick hands.
