When Pope Francis removed Bishop Strickland from Tyler, Texas, he actually made this bishop everyone's bishop. I hear what he says every week because this bishop is not busy with a diocese.

Catholics should not be listening to any Bishops that have been removed from the Church, otherwise you are going against the Church! It’s a very dangerous game to play. I never listened to Strickland and don’t trust the person that went against the Church!

He's a good preacher. Unfortunately, he went off the tracks, allowing himself to be misled by disgruntled elements, destructive forces that Satan is currently using against the Church and its hierarchy from within. What's funny about the whole drama is that Strickland was part of the same hierarchy and leadership he was recruited by the dissidents to hate. May God have mercy on all of us!

If priests go back to living the Gospel besides preaching, people will fill the Churches again, there will be new vocations for the priesthood, families will be more drawn to be united in the love of Christ and Christ will reign again as King in our countries as of old times,l remember well in my 90th year of my life.I thank God that there are still priests who are truly devoted to Christ and they are our hope ,leading us on our journey to Our final blessed destination.l pray for others who have lost the way, the truth and the life.

I respect the fact that Bishop Strickland talked about “complacency” and how us North Americans take for granted the resources we have here to practice our Catholic faith. Faithful Catholics in Africa are definitely far more faithful and should be an inspiration to us all. Walking 2-3 hours to go to the Holy Sacrifice of the Holy Mass is DEDICATION and the expression of love for the Catholic faith. We North Americans have become spiritually SOFT and need to get back to that conviction of faith. Bravo Bishop for bringing that up because people feel uncomfortable to talk about it👏🏾✝️

Bishop Strickland is absolutely correct. So many in the West are distracted also by this or that, we’re almost constantly on our cellphones texting, calling, make plans with our friends. It’s all about ME. Me, myself, and I. This generation is probably the most self-absorbed, selfish generation ever. We want things now. It’s a materialistic, atheistic or even agnostic, godless world that we’re living in. The late Father Malachi Martin said that our world will be punished for tuning our backs on God. Our creature comforts will be taken away. In fact he stated that Russia will be the source of chastisement for our world, and especially for the West.

Bishop, I think if we had to walk 3 hours to get to Mass, the bishop would tell us we are excused from attending Mass like they did during Covid! Remember? The hierarchy is encouraging complacency and the laity think we are being holy because we are obedient to the bishop. It's crazy! We live in evil times.

Technically, I believe the rule is automatic excusal for those who must drive more than an hour and walk for the same.

@@mariekatherine5238Actually, Medievally, and still written by Cardinal Heenan to Evelyn Waugh in the 1960s, stated that anyone living 3 miles away from a church is exempt. To my knowledge, this has never been updated.

I pray for the priests, and all the Catholic clergy. But what is truly scary, is that there is now an AI priest that I saw on the internet. Dr. Anthony Stine of Return to Tradition did a video on it. Can you imagine be instructed on the Catholic faith by an AI priest. Can you imagine confessing your sins to this “thing?” It’s unbelievable. I give my head a shake.

I was told my Irish ancestors walked 12 hours ONE WAY to get to mass, which was in secret. So there's that. As for now days, people are not in good enough physical shape to walk even a few miles.

Man made Christianity that dosent have the body and blood of Jesus Christ for the remission of sin, dosent go to heaven. Jesus said so himself, it dosent matter what any bishop says. Jonh 6 53:54 Then Jesus said unto them verly, verly I say unto you except you eat the flesh of the son of man and drink His blood ye have no life in you 54.whose eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood hath eternal life and I will raise him up at the last day. Our blessed mother also said, its no negotiable. And only available in holy Catholic Apostolic Church, the church Jesus established and ordained with His Apostles. The blood of Our Lord in Eucharist is the passage from earth to heaven. Also I believe the passage from old creation to new creation. The old creation was corrupted by satan through Adam and eve. As in Isaiah God said behold I will come to make new heavens and new earth. In the end heresies and blasfemears will domain the world. Virgim Mary said. That is why is End times. If God didn't put an end to this times no flesh would be saved. Even catholic church would be defeated by satan. And be desolate.

Fruits of Vatican II My kids are better catechized by age 7 than I was as a 35 year old confirmed Catholic who graduated from a Catholic high school. Parents aren't teaching their kids because parents don't know their faith. They don't know their faith because very very few novus ordo priests do their jobs properly shepherding the adults. Found tradition, we have adult catechism beyond the 20-30 minute homilies after mass while the kids are in catechism classes. Everyone learns. Everyone studies. Vatican II robbed us of the treasures of our faith.

Also, Catholic parents who are practicing, and will teach their kids to practice. Teach them about love, sin, forgiveness, and suffering. Encourage them to join Bible or Catechism studies, and talk it over with their families.

I agree with the bishop complacency is an issue but not just for laity but for the clergy. At the end of day, the priest is Shepard and the flock is the reflection of their Shepard. Fr. Mike schmitz is able to have people travel far and wide to experience his homilies and mass because there is an expectation of excellence for the overall experience. Too much the laity is blame for the clergy not taking living up to a standard that can produce fruit. We all want viable communities but that starts with priest that are able to hold themselves to a standard. As the priest goes so does the community for we can't have the sacraments without him

It's just so hard to sort out what could help the Church. More priests, more parishes, traditional application of the Catechism with what the commandments are, and what they mean. And exceptions must be taught, for the "spirit of the law " to be followed.

Claiming the true mantle of Christ and using that claim as a weapon against “modern” or “liberal” people has become a cottage industry, especially in the U.S. Fixation on homosexuality seems to be an important part of this. Strickland says “There’s great evil in the world,” but he doesn’t enumerate what are some of these evils. I don’t see how he squares his very public criticism of Pope Francis with whatever sort of bland prescriptions he’s pushing in this interview. I do know that the East Texas Baptists to whom he’s giving props are way more concerned about who gays can love than they are about the damage their big pickup trucks are doing to God’s Creation.
