The biggest problem is people have lost the ability to agree to disagree. We all don't have to agree about stuff and its ok to argue. The problem is people turn into enemies over comic related stuff.
@wylierichardson-tu6zs15 күн бұрын
I though the Political divide was much bigger tho? Yes, hard-core fans can get into arguments over the medium, but ultimately we are all part of the same community.

Great video. The more each person just expresses their interests and personal perspectives on their hobbies the more fun this is.

First time viewer here and a comic creator. The only way things are going to change is people like you being passionate. It gets people to take an interest in comics, manga, Music and games. Please just keep being you and people will find you.

These thoughts are great and I am so glad 😃 that you are expressing them honestly and the way they should be put out there, so we as a community can hash it out.

I'm working on new comics. I don't like how much things have changed in comic community and the comic industry. Everyone is so divided and there are justifiable reasons for that. I just wish we could get back to the days when we could argue about the things that matter: who is stronger, The Hulk or Superman. It's a rhetorical question. It's Hulk.
@jaro474213 күн бұрын
This! Superman still beats Hulk in a fight though

Channels like this are sorely needed. I watched good channels that were small evolve into huge channels that constantly pushed outrage about everything. Also one channel to the next all carrying the same story, and using the same points. I treasure small channels like this. I like to see someone positive and sharing stuff they like. I am glad the algorithm showed me your channel.
@williambarrett710816 сағат бұрын
Who you are is awesome!!! Love ❤️ you!! Please never change. It’s great when you talk comics. Definitely up there with the geek!!! You are the best! I hope you keep doing what you do!
@lukeyznaga7627Күн бұрын
I agree with you about people being too niche. Comic video channels should spend MORE time on saying WHY they like some comics rather than talk about how they made money or "...only paid a dollar for these comics..."
@MJComix26 күн бұрын
I agree with you. I used to think that people tune for the comics, but it’s the personality of the channel. People tune in for you. Great video 👏
@ComicCollectorGeek14 күн бұрын
You made some good points. Generally the KZbin algorithm prefers more niched content. So if you are too broad with your content your channel won't perform as well. Also, subscribers generally prefer consistent content.
@Lithograph_Comics25 күн бұрын
Thumbs up on this one. Like you, I have absolutely gotten more than a few people into comics, and even after a few years, they still buy and read today. Same for heavy metal music, as that's my jam as well. Keep up the positivity, and thank you for being an ambassador for the hobby/hobbies that we all find enjoyment in! I don't know where my life would be without the passion I have for this hobby, as it's a HUGE part of my life, and I know it can affect other people the same way.

The problem many people like myself have is that, while I love many channels including yours, I can’t possibly watch all of them regularly. I subscribe to about 300 Pop culture comics related channels of which there are close to 100 I really enjoy (you being among them ) but could never be able to watch them all let alone commenting on them. I would be spending 10 hours a day doing that. I make strong efforts to show support for those channels including newer ones as much as I can. I agree with you that there is a very high number of people that enjoy and thrive on drama, wild perspectives and tension. Many Channels take advantage of this for the purpose of garnishing views and subs. I think you’re doing a good job of being yourself ,sharing your love of the medium which is how it should be.
@paulinthe619417 күн бұрын
Good points. I show stuff I like. Not really driving for views or subs but content I want to present. If people like it. Cool. If not, there is other channels they can watch. I do this for fun and connecting with other collectors in the community. There is a lot of us out there. I watch your content because you keep it real and are entertaining. Thank you for that.
@Bel_Izeard25 күн бұрын
You're channel is one I tend to watch semi-regularly. You're passion for Batman is great to watch. I really enjoyed your video where you had your husband try to guess obscure DC characters. That was really fun. In truth, there are so many channels out there. It can be tough to watch everything posted by all the channels I'm subscribed to. There is only so much time in the day, after all. The best thing you can do is create the content you want to make for you. If others want to watch, then so be it.

There is a wide variety of interest in the comic book environment. Im not just talking about modern vs golden age, but there are people who dont care about the story as much as they love the art work, they follow a specific artists, they collect sketches, they collect cover proofs, or color charts, acetate pages, printer plates, foreign comics, etc etc and if you did a survey you would find that most of those items have no appeal to most. I personally have no desire to buy a book made with digital art, or to read a series about modern day x-men for example, the original ones are it, there are no other. Now I know their are other series and I appreciate all of you who keep up with it, but i was that kid who went to the corner store every saturday as a kid in the 60's to get my so called silver age comic. I remember the art work and I collect the ones I remember, and I knew the story back then but not now, to long ago. I like to draw so i draw the old stuff, yet another angle to comics books, the guy or girl who likes to draw, and no interest in story. So I appreciate this video, keep your head up, dont go any where, and I use to see you on minthunters auctions, hope you continue that, and peace to all.

Good video and insights on this community. My channel sucks now and I'm ok with it, my videos are very boring with my same old same old comic book hauls. And you know what I'm ok with that , I lose subs everyday and I'm ok with that because I make content I like. At the end of the day make content you enjoy because that's all that matters at the end of the day. Thanks for sharing

Ma',am...mz. Gotham...to be fair and honest most comicnook collector channels are NOT comic book lovers or collectors. They are SALESMAN and hucksters. Only a few are legimiy comic book lovers and collectors. I DO appreciate your sincerity and passion and concern. But you need to educate yourself about what is really going on. We true comic book lovers and collectors are trying to PROTECT our hobby and culture.

"Publishers are struggling to reach the next generation of readers.." Maybe they should stop hiring people that hate the franchises they are working on?
@Brush400024 күн бұрын
Well, that plus it is a expensive niche hobby. Comics used to be printed on cheap paper and cost a quarter, later 50 cents, than a dollar. Around a dollar, if I remember my history, publishers decided to target adult collectors. It's not a hobby for most people price wise. Most people aren't going to spend $4 to try out a comic when there is so much more entertainment available. They are pushing away the old fans without actually getting new paying customers.

This video was not scripted and is a subject I take seriously. My normal videos are anything but stiff and serious. I tend to crack a lot of jokes and get stoned in my videos, so I'd say I'm pretty loose with my audience. I'd reccomend my previous two uploads if you have any doubts.
