Good analysis. However, I think different pricing for citizens might be controversial....that has been problematic at the slave castle. Another angle is that Ghana has become popular because it is affordable for a Westerner after the airfare. That is actually a competitive advantage for Ghana.

Hi C. Jane, what a brilliant, informative and incisive video. Its the first time i am seeing a thoughtful analysis and progressive recommendations on travel to Ghana especially for diasporans and other socio-conscious tourists to Ghana. Good thing you have documented this in a vlog with other statistics as well and i would like to suggest that you take these experiences and serialize the respective topics to create a whole study/documentary/guide book. Yu share insights that only a person who has lived within the communities for longer than a month could have, and this offers pointers to even the local authorities and tourism administrators and managers on how to enhance the local offerings to create deeper and more enhanced experiences for tourists. I have been debating with other afficionados on a good number of the issues you discussed in this video and your thoughts and arguments on nearly all of them offers an insight on what we should be focusing on to enhance the 'experience product'. Thanks for this insightful and well curated piece and hope you can make the time to chop it up into bits and delve deeper and wider into each topic with facts and figures (sounds like a complete study now lol). We could never have had this in a focus group discussion lasting 15 minutes, the way you laid it out. Good job and i hope to see more from you now i have fully subbed.

The problem is the local people are suffering due to corruption and due to corruption and mismanagement in their government. Ghana is deemed the most expensive place in the world because prices are at western prices for tourists while the local suffers.
