Changes That Should Be Made to Crash Bandicoot 4 1: Level Design Changes 1-1: Hidden Crates should be moved where they are clearly visible or removed. 1-2: A few Basic Crates should be replaced with Aku-Aku Crates. 1-3: In Timeline Levels, the Nitro Switch Crate and the Crate hologram should be at the end of the Tawna, Dingodile, or Neo Cortex section. Some Timeline Levels may need to be slightly changed at those ends to accommodate for this. All of the Crates and Wumpa Fruit in the Crash/Coco section should be removed and after the cutscene with Crash/Coco being confused, the Timeline Level should end. 1-3-1: Relic times for Timeline Levels should be shorter. 1-3-2: All Timeline Level preview images and loading screen images should be of the non-Crash/Coco section. 1-4: In Jetboard Jetty, Louise should not be fought, but be an obstacle before the end of the level. 1-5: Rush Hour should be split into two levels: the Dingodile's section level and the Tawna's section level. Dingodile's section should have the Nitro Switch Crate and the Crate hologram at the end of the section. Tawna's section should have a Time Trial stopwatch on the platform that she first hookshots to, but is out of her way to the left if she heads straight forward. The Tawna's section level should be before the Dingodile's section level and still be called Rush Hour. The Dingodile’s section level should have a different name. 1-5-1: Only one Skin should be unlocked after beating Trouble Brewing so both Rush Hour levels can have one Skin each. 1-6: The Crash/Coco section in The Crate Escape should not have Crates and be replaced with more of the cutscene that plays after completing Neo Cortex’s section of the level. 1-6-1: Neo Cortex's section in The Crate Escape should have the Nitro Switch Crate and the Crate hologram at its end. 1-6-2: The Relic times for The Crate Escape should be shorter. 1-7: The Flashback Levels should alternate between fully 2D levels and fully 3D levels, with the first Flashback Level being fully 2D. 2: Gameplay Mechanic Changes 2-1: During or after a flip in a single jump, but before touching the ground, the player should be able to double jump and/or body slam. 2-2: The player should be able to double jump after running off of a ledge. 2-3: Sliding, slide jumping, and double jumping should not reset the player's momentum. 2-4: The bottom side of an Iron Crate being bounced by an Iron Arrow Crate should not instantly defeat the player while it is in mid-air and not crushing the player. 2-5: After reaching the end a level with Aku-Aku Masks remaining, they should be carried over to another level. 2-6: Tawna, Dingodile, and Neo Cortex should gain temporary invincibility upon collecting three Aku-Aku Masks. 3: Collectible Changes 3-1: The 40% of Wumpa Fruit, the 60% of Wumpa Fruit, the 3 Deaths or Less, and the Hidden Clear Gems should be removed. 3-2: After a Crate on non-moving ground or a stack of Crates on non-moving ground is broken, its Wumpa Fruit should fall to the ground and not gravitate toward the player, except during Hit the Road’s chase sequences, during the animal riding sequences, and when the player is invincible. 3-3: It should be possible for Wumpa Fruit to be spun away by Crash, Coco, and Dingodile, and kicked away by Tawna. 3-4: 5 Clear Gem fragments should be hidden in each Main Path Level and 3 Clear Gem fragments should be hidden in each Timeline Level. Collecting all of the Clear Gem fragments in a level should award the player with a Clear Gem. None of the Clear Gem Fragments should not be hidden in the Bonus of a level. 3-5: Completing a non-boss level should make a Skin available for purchase, which should cost any 3 Clear Gems each. 3-6: In all Boss Levels, the Crash/Coco skin should be unlocked by beating the boss in Normal Mode. 3-7: N. Sanely Perfect Relics should be removed. 3-8: A Flashback Tape should be added to A Real Grind. 3-8-1: Coco should have another Flashback Level, totaling her Flashback Levels to 11. 3-8-2: The Flashback Tapes level pad in The Hazardous Wastes should be connected to A Real Grind. 3-9: Flashback Tapes should be earned by breaking all of the Crates in the Bonus of a level under a certain amount of time. It should be on the platform that takes the player back to the level and start out with faded colors and uncollectable. If the time limit expires, the Flashback Tape should stay that way. If all Crates in the Bonus are broken before the time limit expires, the timer should disappear, the Flashback Tape should take on brighter colors, and the Flashback Tape should be collectable as long as until the player collects it or dies in the Bonus. 4: Time Trial Mode Changes 4-1: The minimum level of Time Trial Relic required for 200% should be Gold. 4-2: The Triple Spin should be replaced with the Speed Shoes. 4-3: All playable characters should have the Speed Shoes. 4-4: Crates should not be added, removed, or changed, except for changing all of the Basic Crates, ? Crates, Bounce Crates, Golden Wumpa Fruit Crates, and Checkpoint Crates to Basic Crates or Time Crates. 4-5: All of the Time Crates should be yellow. 4-6: The HUD should show the time required for Gold, then when the stopwatch passes that time, it should show the time required for Sapphire. Once the stopwatch reaches the Sapphire time, the level should automatically restart. Once the player has earned the Gold Time Trial Relic for a level, the HUD should show the time required for Platinum in that level. 4-7: The timer should stop as soon as the player touches the Crate hologram. 4-8: Boss Levels should have Time Trials. 4-8-1: In all Boss Levels except A Hole in Space, the Time Trial Stopwatch should be close to and northwest of the player character's starting position and disappear when the boss begins attacking. After dying and respawning in Time Trial mode, the boss should regain all of its lost health. 4-8-2: In A Hole in Space, the Time Trial Stopwatch should remain longer and be on the platform the player character starts on after the rail grinding section. It should be close to and northwest of the player's starting position. After dying in A Hole in Space in Time Trial mode, the player character should respawn on the platform they start on after the rail grinding section. 5: N. Verted Mode Changes 5-1: N. Verted Mode should be unlocked after beating The Past Unmasked. 5-2: Trouble Brewing should not have the “N. Verted" filter in both its Normal and N. Verted versions. 5-3: All levels should have purple undertones (similar to Sonic Lost World 3DS's Hard Mode). 5-4: All of the Aku-Aku Crates should be replaced with Basic Crates. 5-5: Crates should be moved to harder locations while still being clearly visible. 5-6: Many Nitro Crates should be added. 5-6-1: Rude Awakening and N. Sanity Peak should have Nitro Switch Crates at the end of the level. 5-7: All of the non-Nitro Crates should be away from the Nitro Crates’ explosion areas. 5-8: Aku-Aku Masks collected from another level should not be allowed in this mode and the player should get them back after they are done in this mode. 5-9: There should not be any Dynamic Difficulty Adjustment. 5-10: N. Verted Gems should be replaced with N. Verted Relics, which should use the N. Sanely Perfect Relic's design. 5-10-1: The Sapphire N. Verted Relic should be earned by reaching the end of the level. 5-10-2: The Gold N. Verted Relic should be earned by breaking 90% of the Crates in the level. 5-10-3: The Platinum N. Verted Relic should be earned by breaking all of the Crates in the level. 5-11: Upon completing a Boss Level in N. Verted Mode, the player should earn one of each type of N. Verted Relic. 5-12: Bosses should have harder to avoid attacks. 5-13: The minimum level of N. Verted Relic required for 200% should be Platinum. 6: HUD & Menu Changes 6-1: In the Dimensional Map and menus, the playable character's icon should always be displayed to the left of the level name. 6-2: In the Dimensional Map, the Quantum Masks used in the level should be displayed to the right of the level name and animated. They should not be displayed next to N. Sanity Peak and The Past Unmasked because even though Quantum Masks are involved in those levels, they are not controlled by the player. 6-3: In the Dimensional Map, the Quantum Mask introduced in a level should be displayed over the level pad and animated. After the level is completed, it should be removed. 6-3-1: Lani-Loli should be above A Real Grind's level pad. 6-3-2: Akano should be above Give it a Spin's level pad. 6-3-3: Kapuna-Wa should be above Snow Way Out's level pad. 6-3-4: Ika-Ika should be above Out for Launch's level pad. 6-4: There should be a denominator by the Wumpa Fruit counter that shows the required amount for 80% of Wumpa Fruit, as well as "80%" marked below the 80% mark in the Wumpa Fruit Meter. 6-5: In Retro Mode, there should be a fraction under the Wumpa Fruit counter where the numerator displays the amount of Wumpa Fruit collected in the level and the denominator displays the amount of Wumpa Fruit required for the 80% of Wumpa Fruit Clear Gem. 6-6: The icon and counter for the amount of deaths in a level should be removed. 6-7: In the Flashback Levels and N. Verted Levels, there should be no Wumpa Fruit icon and counter in Modern Mode. 7: Completion Changes 7-1: 106% should be replaced with 200%. 7-2: 117 Clear Gems, 4 Color Gems, 22 Flashback Tapes, and 22 Platinum Flashback Medals should be required for 100%. 7-3: The 100% requirements, 44 Gold Time Trial Relics, and 44 Platinum N. Verted Relics should be required for 200%.

Some really good suggests here! I too would split the dingo/tawna level, it makes no sense to put them both together when they are both massive! I'd also prefer a slide jump like the original/nsane games and the gem fragments idea is pretty interesting idea. I'd also think it'd be better to make 106% a 200% completion and it'd be a nice nod to that glitch from crash 2

When I first got this game I was excited and determined to get every collectable like I did with the remaster trilogy. For the seven or so hours I played everything you talked about here grinded down my will to continue. I also wasn't using a guide to find stuff so that really sucked. I realized I wasn't having any fun but then it happened, I got my first perfect run without knowing they existed. My heart sank seeing this and I never ended up playing again. As someone who is a staunch anti-It's About Time crash fan (not out of nostalgia, it should be mentioned), I think you properly addressed EVERYTHING about this game that makes it my least favourite game in the series. I by no means think it's a bad game - it is objectively great... it's just subjectively REALLY frustrating! I do agree with most of your solutions. Just... lop out all of that unnecessary completion crap! We don't need to be forced to get platinum relics; we don't need to be forced to perfect the levels; we don't need to be forced to replay sections of the level again... *again... AGAIN!* And we don't need to be left completely clueless as to where everything is hidden. Take a look at Crash 2, for example. True, you could make an argument that some of its secrets were a little iffy, but most of them were more like "Hang on, something's fishy about this..." Take that stack of Nitro Crates in Bee-Having or those three wooden planks from the bridge in Unbearable. Those seemed out of place that made you go suspect there was more to them. You didn't need to be told anything! (The exception would probably be that fake wall in The Eel Deal; I discovered that by accident.) I also have personal issues with the story and how it blatantly ignores everything else the franchise ever did - you probably don't care judging by what you said at the start, but I do. It just feels like an insult that we have ALL of these amazing characters... and Toys for Bob decided to bin them all. And after Beenox went to all the trouble of reviving even the most obscure ones for Nitro-Fueled?! That's a slap in the face if ever I saw one. "Oh, I see you reintroduced all of these classic characters to the current fandom, have you Beenox? Well !@#$% you! We're ret-conning them out of existence!" And no, I don't count Easter Eggs. I only count official appearances that tie directly into the canon. (This is why I don't trust Toys for Bob as developers; they don't care what others did/do and march to the beat of their own drum while ignoring everything else.)
@GunslingerNV2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I've heard people dislike the secrets in Crash 2 and can see their point but it's never bothered me too much. I think that's because when they remade it they had little hints in the loading screen to help first time players so it didnt feel too much like guess work Personally, it doesnt bother me too much that they took out all the extra characters for this game but I'm hoping that they bring them back (N Trance would be my pick) in a potential sequel, theres certainly the option with multiple dimensions being a thing I would have preferred Vicarious Visions to have stayed in charge of Crash but that's dead in the water now. I'm just hoping Microsoft treat him and Spyro with the respect they deserve and dont pull another Banjo-Kazooie on us

N Verted Mode might have worked as a separate 'Hard Mode' version of the main adventure. It also means they could have amped up the challenges for that particular take while keeping the normal adventure more fair and lenient. As for relics, they should be the same as previous games, where only Gold is mandatory AT MOST, while Platinum, Developer and Perfect are bragging rights. I feel there should also be more reward incentive for getting the relics, Sapphire don't do ANYTHING now, while in previous games you could unlock secret levels with them.

My issues summarized: - It's not Crash 6 as it should have been, in order for Crash "4" to exist it nuked 80% of the timeline off the map. Huge Adventure, N-Tranced, WoC, Nitro Kart, Tag Team Racing, Boom Bang, Crash Purple, Twinsanity, hell, not even CTR remained intact, they legit just removed everything past C3 to make their new bad story. Way to reward fans for sticking around. Sonic Frontiers came out a few years later and instead did the opposite, unifying the entire timeline into something a lot more lively and coherent, acknowledging and referencing literally everything from its past, THAT'S what Crash "4" should have done. - New art direction. I find it very bland and not at all Crash-y, all the character redesigns look bland and bastardized for no reason - Speaking of bastardization, most of the cast's characterization is 🐕💩 and has that forced, ugly modern way of reshaping female characters into these unlikable "do all, can't do no wrong" archetypes - Level design, levels were too long, box placements are 🐕💩 and the difficulty straight up ain't fun - Soundtrack, mega forgettable, should have gone the Twinsanity route - Actually the line above, Crash "4" should have have been a Twinsanity 2 type of game

I've got all 228 normal gems, all 21 Flashback Tapes, 5/228 N Verted gems, 14/38 Perfect relics. What does all of that add up to? 56% 😑 I DON'T want to go through the same levels again and again, the hidden boxes pissed me off and Perfect relics can get in the bin! Too many times have I finished a level with ONE BLOODY BOX missing because the arseholes at Toys For Bob thought it would be a good idea to hide the boxes OFF SCREEN or blend in with the fucking background which is what happens in EVERY Tawna level! Rush Hour was the most annoying with 441 boxes. Every time I replayed it, I'd finish with 440. Where was that last box? Way back in the Dingodile section on a platform hidden behind a fucking building!

I do not understand how TFB didn't immediately patch things out of this game, when they saw how everyone reacted. I mean imagine making a Crash game, that HARDCORE CRASH KZbinRS admittedly never want to complete again. Like, that would be enough of a punch in the gut to sit down and seriously consider patching repetitive content out, and that would ironically lead your game to having more longevity. Because this way nobody will ever want to replay this.

They essentially made the best Crash game ever, but wanted to make it even better by just using it as a dump of random and not thoughtrough ideas, completely ruining what they had. Strip down this game to the classics in terms if collectibles and requirements and make the inverted crap optional and the "difficulty" wouldn't even be a bothersome aspect anymore. Difficulty would be fine without changing the levels and even hidden crates and gems could stay - just don't make ne do the same thing over and over and over again to collect another one of a redundant collectible again.
@kobaltsteel64182 ай бұрын
In my opinion, the number one issue is the filler content; the N. Verted and recycled parts of the Perspective levels should have seen redesigns to make those levels feel different, new, and (for the N. Verted Levels) harder WHILE still being recognizable to the originals. It would have made the other issues more stomach-able... though I do agree, those other issues are pretty serious and need to be fixed

If they want platinum relics to be required for 106% completion, then at least add something like Practis Mode in Geometry Dash to train some level sequences. And while I have no problems with getting platinums (or even purples sometimes), I am aware that e.g. the first level can discourage people from further progressing in the game due to the high requirements to get a platinum relic

I think Somecallmejohnny puts it at best that there's two separate games of this. When playing it casually, it's fantastic. But when going for 100% completion, it's an nightmare. Even if this isn't the greatest Crash game ever made, at least we can agree that this game deserves to be the fourth title more than Wrath of Cortex ever will be.

Love all your suggestions, some of which I thought of before myself, such as the box counter at each checkpoint. The checkpoint warping from StH was particularly inspired. That would absolutely help out a lot. Honestly, I just wish some of the stages in the last third of the game were shorter, or cut into two seperate levels apiece, because good lord did they drag on. The feeling went from "Yeah, completed the level!" to "Well thank f*** that's finally over. Now on to the next one....uuuuughhhh." Another change I would make is to some of those bonus rooms. I get they're supposed to be a sort of platforming puzzle, but some of them just end up being way too tedious. One in the Eggipus dimesion comes to mind, where you have to go back and forth, activating ! switches with TNT like 5 times before you can actually press on, which is just a complete disrespect of your time.
@supermaro2349 Жыл бұрын
Some other ideas I had Relics: either make the trike spin keep the max spin as long as you hit the timing or just give us the crash dash back N Verted: It could possibly be tied to a different objective linked to what the stages n verted mode looks like, for example for the first worlds sonar n verted mode, possibly have something like get to the end only spinning 5 times and as you keep doing more spins you get less and less gems Wumpa fruit gems I think are fine since without them they would be pointless on modern mode I feel the checkpoint system you talked about would interrupt the flow of the stages, I feel it would be better if there were just less boxes in the stages. Wrath of cortex had larger levels and yet boxes weren’t everywhere. There were moments where they just let you focus on platforming. Maybe dingodile can keep the large amount since his stages are designed around larger clumps of boxes
@christopherfu2169 Жыл бұрын
Also, give us back the crash dash instead of the triple spin. The levels are already way harder than past ones, so having to just hold down a button instead of trying to press one in a hyper specific rhytm would make the reclics fairer, potentially compensating for the higher relic requirements, if that would not be changed.

Personally, I though of a way N.Verted mode could have been implemented Keep the concept of the world being mirror, but on another level. You go from the end of the level back to the start with new obtacles, and new sections That way, they can keep the main level geometry and the theme (and not being forced to create whole new levels), it would still have a fresh coat of paint and they could even add a small bonus : *see locations that you couldn't see originally in the normal mode* That way, most of the bs super hidden crate could be placed in a way where if you are in N.Verted, you can clearly see them (to any player looking for the secrets, they could still see them in Normal mode, it would just be a help for more casual players) And since N.Verted would be their own level, the 3 gems would be duplicated for it, but since they are brand new levels it wouldn't be intolerable like they are

Great review ! I do enjoy the game quite a lot, although I personally prefer Wrath of Cortex mostly because of the completion factor. I think this game could have done a lot better with a few stages tweaked to be shorter in length (act as a breather stage), as almost every stage in the game has hundreds of boxes to break and levels like Crash Lander feel like two or three stages linked together. Hitboxes needed to be improved on the bear-riding stages. Another big problem is hiding one or two crates in almost un-findable areas, such as hidden on staircases. Compare this to Crash 2, with the fake nitro boxes actually acting as a red flag that it's a suspicious area to explore. Collectibles were fewer and had more meaning, compared to over 400 collectibles in this game. N.Verted is a stupid gimmick with seizure inducing filters like the Dinosaur-Stage filters and should have purely awarded you with a skin for completion. Boss fights are good, but things like Cortex's first fight is nothing more than a spam-fest without any thought put in it. N.Tropy had a good fight, but it was too short and easy. Dingodile and Tawna had interesting gameplay mechanics, but really doesn't beat the core platforming as Crash. They also needed to replace the triple-spin mechanic for time relics with the speed shoes which was so much more consistent. Ice mechanics is absolutely terrible, with momentum seeming to carry even when jumping, compared to Wrath of Cortex ice physics which was nearly perfect. I feel that the game was recommended to have infinite lives because the game is simply that much harder and longer in nature, and that kind of erodes the concept of limited lives. Same goes for boss checkpoints, they exist purely for Cortex's first boss fight being extremely unfun to play. Shockingly, I found the soundtrack very forgettable compared to N.Sane Trilogy, Wrath of Cortex or Twinsanity, it feels more atmospheric than having a catchy tune, but that's just my opinion. They could have had some more minibosses like Komodo Bros or being able to play as Oxide. Levels should be limited to 3 gems per level, maximum, maybe one for "All Crates", "50% Wumpa", "3 Deaths or Less". Time relics should be downgraded from needing Platinum to Gold relics like the trilogy. Flashback tapes should have an easier start, same goes for bonus sections which all feel very challenging, compared to many bonus areas in the Trilogy that were a lot more relaxed. There should always be levels that have a short and easy length to them, all levels in Crash 4 are long and challenging, even the first level is no exception.

I was originally gonna mention the hit boxes in the polar sequences as they were a nightmare on my first playthrough at launch but when capturing footage I managed to hit them perfectly nearly every time so maybe they have changed them some how...or I've just played too much haha Speed shoes are a good call as well! Wasn't sure if my controller or finger was gonna break first from constantly mashing the spin button in time trials Thanks for watching 😊

I know it's your opinion. But there is no way Wrath of Cortex is better.

In terms of the wumpa gems I think they're arbitrary, those gems should have been for crates instead, breaking 25% for a gem, then 50% for another and of course 100% for the final gem, to avoid that empty feeling when you finally get to the end and get absolutely nothing because of one stupid little crate hidden offscreen. The wumpa gems feel like participation trophies, and I don't appreciate being rewarded for doing something that I was doing passively anyway. At the same time the game expects perfection pretty early on and offer little-to-nothing, if anything AT ALL, for doing so, which seems very backwards.

Love this game but THE LEVELS SHOULD BE SPLIT INTO MORE SHORTER LEVELS AND HAVE MORE CHECKPOINTS. I think the devs expect too much from us. It worked better to repeat levels in Crash 2 when they were 5 min but now they are 15 or 20. Its too much. I get actually tired while playing

All of this are mostly unanimous critiques about the game, and it's all certain points of discussion when approaching the game. The only point that I completely disagree with is the platinum relic requirement. These platinum relics are what the N. Sane Trilogy's gold relics are. You can do them by literally just running most of the time, without the use of the special ability the game rewards you in order to do them (I've directly proved this on my twitter with complete platinum relic runs where I run 99% of the time). Naturally, with time trials, it requires trial and error (it's in the name and part of its nature). Fun fact, if anyone wants to know about this: Gold relics in this game are actually the pointless collectable. It's the sapphire relics that reward you up to 104%, leaving the extra 2% to the platinum relics. Other than that, yeah there's just not much to go against with the rest, but I'd say the level lengths aren't really that much of an issue other than very VERY few ones like Rock Blocked, Shipping Error, Rush Hour, and Toxic Tunnels... and these few are very far towards the end of the game, while the 2 latter ones are legitimate levels, leaving the 2 formers enough as levels of their own where the timeline cuts back to the Crash part. Level length is really not that much of issue otherwise, as it feels like a natural evolution to have slightly longer stages that start appearing halfway into the game. Overall, well-thought analysis, and I'm happy with it all around :)

Length can be problem. It depends if the game is padded out with no reason that involves around the plot or shouldn't exist.

I might be a little late to the party (thank the YT algorithm), but I wanna comment on this anyway. First off, as someone who 106%ed Crash 4, I agree with most of your points. Although personally I would do it again at some point. However, there are some points I disagree with for specific reasons, which I wanna point out: - "Too many boxes": I don't think that's an issue in itself, really; it's only a problem with all the BS hidden crates in the game. Take every Dingodile Level as example though, while each of one had at least 300 boxes, it never really felt that way, because for the largest part, they were in huge stacks that Dingodile could just smash through, which is quite satisfying. So the box count in itself isn't really an issue in my eyes. - N.verted levels: I agree with the full on addition of the inverted levels being way too much. HOWEVER, if every inverted level would be like World 1 (which was a genuinely gamechanging concept) as in offering a switch of gameplay style, I wouldn't mind them being mandatory as clear conditions. However not with seperate gems. Think of them like a challenge run like the time trials. - Gems: I think having ONE wumpa gem is alright, but make it tougher to get. In most levels, as long as you break all the crates, you already get the wumpa gem. If you instead opt for having 90% of the wumpas mandatory, you can't just spin bouncy crates, or sometimes even have to get out of your way to find a hidden path only for wumpas - See Off Balance hidden gem path. (This one is not mandatory though, as your point is valid.) - On the other hand, I think 3 deaths for a gem are good enough. The game is supposed to be challenging, there is no need to take away from that. You get better over time once you learn the levels. A compromise might be a difficulty setting at the start of the game that allows these values to change. (Example:: Easy: 70% wumpas, 10 deaths; Medium: 80% wumpas, 5 deaths; Hard: 90% wumpas, 3 deaths; Bandicoot/Impossible: 95% wumpas, no deaths) - Perfect Relics: Need adjustment, yes, but I do like the overall inclusion. Should rather be tied to getting all the gems in one go though instead of deathless all crate run. And make it not count in percentage, rather as bonus achievement, just like the purple relics. Also, the load times on a restart... Nitro Fueled manages to restart quickly, why can't Crash 4? - Checkpoints/teleporters: Personally not a fan of that idea, sorry. Especially since some of the sections, especially chase sections, are meant to be single time only. It'd break the flow of the game, and change the gameplay completely, which is simply not Crash Bandicoot. I do like the crate counter idea though.

Can absolutely see your point with some of what you're saying and I wouldn't be against them if they were included in the next game. I think if perfect relics were optional then that'd be fine, more for bragging rights then and they could put a little skull and cross bones pick at the start so it functions like the time trials with the clock and quicker respawns. I still gotta back my teleport idea - I'm just too much of a shadow stan to listen to reason (even if his game is terrible) 😂

I suffered through 106%... and I kind of regret all that time I put into it lol. I just checked my steam account, and less the 1% of people who purchased the game have all the achievements... it's almost like T4B asked for the impossible

this is a good video and you have brought up some well made points but i think i am going to have to respectfully disagree. a lot of the changes you suggest here would just make the game way too easy in my eyes. i do agree that the amount of hidden boxes is ridiculous and that the filler content is overwhelming but all of that content is optional. if you ignore that content and just play straight through the levels you still get the full story of the game. on my first play through of the game i just played through the game, only collecting the gems when they unlocked a costume that i wanted, and i had a blast. i never felt the need to pick it back up again until i bought it on my switch, and now im going through the game trying to perfect everything and im still having a really great time. i really love this game and i love these levels, and im glad that there is so much extra content to go through to incentivize me to pick up the game again. without the nsanely perfect gem i wouldnt have a reason to pick the game up again, and it gives me the challenge i need to truly appreciate the game. i wouldnt want that to be taken out, and once ive gone through all of those i want to jump back in and collect the relics because i still just really enjoy playing these levels.
@GunslingerNV2 жыл бұрын
Definitely having to agree to disagree here 😅 that content isn't optional for the full completion but without it the game would only take about 4 hours to complete. I'm glad you're enjoying the challenge, I tried it again recently and fatigue set in pretty quickly when I remembered rush hour and toxic mines exist. Either thanks for watching and commenting 😊

There are times when I wish that Naughty Dog still had the rights to the series. Whilst I love The Wrath of Cortex and Crash of the Titans, I didn't like the N.Sane Trilogy and It's About Time. The latter didn't even make sense in terms of its story and use of characters

I think there should be a 100% and 106% skin. And I think that the wumpa fruit should be used as a currency because it's useless in modern mode. A currency to buy new skins, or extra content. Or an aku mask u can have at the beining of a level. Also a return to last checkpoint option.

Why has nobody ever made mod to fix these issues? Its just cutting content shouldnt be that hard

In my experience so far platinum relics aren't that bad to get to be honest. So here is how I see it, these are the new gold relics. Yes, I mean it, The Amethyst Relics (Fan made name by me: cause the others are crystal or elements) are the new platinum relics. Edit: Also the perfect relics in the regular and dingodile levels. Are not that bad, Especially considering that almost all regular levels don't go over 200 boxes. Further Edit: I also think that most of the "Hidden" things are not that hidden. Other than 2-4 gems and 2 boxes everything else is rather easy to spot if you keep your eyes peeled. Or have an obvious hint towards it. Like in rush hour I heard nightmare stories trying to find one box. On my first run I found it immediately while also getting the perfect relic. I agree that the N.Verted level are completely unnecessary though.

There isn’t a developer on the world who could make a better Crash game. There is so much content and skins and the graphics are eye candy. The only problem for most people is that its too hard. Which I don’t understand. Only problem I have is with the insane box placement but even that doesnt bother me that much.

Completion should NEVER be this tedious or draining. I hope Toys For Bob's studio closes down completey and they fade into obscurity. Shame on them for this blatant bloated design and the repetitive, questionably cruel completion expectations. There are so many changes that just dont improve the game at all. The inclusion of a shitty slide spin boost, the wumpa gems, the perfect relic, the complete lack of mask boxes, the nearly pointless extra side character levels, the CRATES YOU CANT SEE UNLESS YOU WATCH A VIDEO. Oh, but THANK GOD we have a drop shadow. WOW. This game should have had a different subtitle. Crash Bandicoot 4: A Waste Of Time Screw Toys For Knob. I would rather have payed the price for a REASONABLY difficult game than this garbage.

Well. Most things in this games are optional. 100% the game is optional to begin with. Why people make it mandatory upon themselves to 100% every game now, just so you can collect this useless background trophy? Just play the game and enjoy life already? Great.

But Crash games always encouraged completion, even the titans games, which i really dislike, made collecting stuff a natural part of progression instead of hiding stuff. Crash 4 as a casual game is fun but the completion makes it worse than TWOC, which i actually completed way more times.
