Ancelotti is great at getting the best out of players individually, and RM do have some of the best players in their position on the planet. But the problem is, being that flexible leads to inconsistent performances. Not to mention you can extract more out of certain players when there is a rigid system around them. I’m not saying it won’t work, but just like any other system, being flexible has its positives and negatives. Players can’t solve everything themselves everytime, someone needs to think outside the box

The "problem" is that he rejected PL clubs and wants to play for Madrid. Otherwise there is no scenario where signing the best player in the world can be spun as a negative. Mbappe will return to being just a football player at Madrid, especially with that locker room. Any negatives regarding his position or play style is due to PSG being a circus.

I think the problem with this is it doesnt take into account THAT RODRYGO DOES THE EXACT SAME THING. The little fact that is oftenly overlooked, is that he is a LW, not a RW. He only got there because he was better than Asensio and Vini pace is more of an assist than when he is out there. Hes way more clinical than Vini and generally is the only player madrid has (before Diaz returned) that could unlock a deep lying defense with his instinctual dribbling

But that instinctual flair Rodrygo has, you cant coach that, its why hes always compared to Ronaldo Nazario. This is also why over time i also believe Rodrygo will surpass Vini, as he doesnt show an inclination for striker.

Real can play 433 with Rodrigo playing as a false nine. He has often mentioned that playing in that number 10 role is his preferred position as well. This will allow Vini to cut in from the left and Mbappe can cut in from the right hand side. It'd be similar to how Bale-Benzema-Cristiano operated.

I feel we will change the formation... We will change it to 4-2-2-2. With camavinga and tchoumeni playing double pivot and Bellingham/modric and valvarde/rodrygo playing wide midfield. Before the pre-season Ancelotti was rumored to play a diamond 4 in the mid and two up top, Vini + Striker. I think M'Bappe fits there perfectly and in the preseason it helps as it gives more room for Bellingham to run and not just look for through passes. Also this gives M'Bappe more freedom. Rodrygo was literally moving around all game vs Man United and not stuck toa pivot role. Also Madrid, with Bellingham and even Vini, will play a lot to filter balls that M'Bappe love to run into. If there ever was a Madrid to join its THIS one for Kylian.

there is a catch, RM stated this pre-season playing a narrow diamond, ancelotti is trying to bring old his old milan formation, they are aving some issues on the pressing but its clear ther are preparing some changes to accomodate bellinham as a AM with full freedom and a striker duo, with could adjust easily to mbappe style of play (praying here that all this situations resolves next season and not this to give rodrygo a chance to demostrate that is a better player than vini)

I feel we will change the formation... We will change it to 4-2-2-2. With camavinga and tchoumeni playing double pivot and Bellingham/modric and valvarde/rodrygo playing wide midfield. Vini and mbappe will play as two forwards.. This will give us the defensive stablity as well as the width diamond formation lacks...also give oppertunity for explosive players like vini and mbape to flourish

Heres the problem in my opinion, mbappe isnt really a number 9 and never loved playing as the lone striker but outside of that the bigger problem is you getting one final year of ancelotti at the helm and really madrid have gone backwards for coaches in zidane and ancelotti like unless they get naggelsman could they regresa cause you can have players but if the coaching isnt there

Real Madrid actually changed there formation to 4-4-2 diamond ( which Ancelotte used in AC Milan ) in preseason to fit Bellingham who will have freedom as no. 10 and Mbappe will also be one of 2 strikers with also tactical freedom that if Mbappe actually went to Madrid

The 4-3-3 looks as if it is being ditched atm....my guess is that they'd aim to play with 4 midfielders in order to replace Benzema's influence when dropping deal, with a front 2 of Vini and Mbappe ahead of them, although in reality it'd probably involve Valverde or Bellingham playing as a sort of false RW in a fake 4-3-3 in order to allow Vini to stick to his favoured LW position

I have some questions about Real (I'm not a supporter): Is Camavinga content to stay at LB? When will Tchouameni start over Kroos or Modric? Will this summer's addition of Bellingham mean that Valverde will continue playing on the wing, and is he satisfied there?

1. Camavinga played as inverted fullback since our only LB, Mendy, was injured throughout the second half of last season. He doesn't like it, but now that Fran Garcia and Mendy are back, Cama will return to midfield. 2. I'm sure that throughout this coming season, either one of Modric or Kroos will play with the 3 youngsters to mentor them, before being replaced by the other. The World Cup and injury took a toll on Tchouameni, he's already easing into the team now. 3. Bellingham AND Arda Guler. Two amazing young talents. It is a bit of a tricky scenario, but if I'm correct, they'll keep on rotating within those 4 midfield spots in lineup, and keep replacing each other in the second half. We can't really predict the future starting lineup or XI based on pre-season, we can only assess the situation after the first few games. Nevertheless, I'm so excited to watch the team play again that I got over Benzema's departure sooner than I thought, and I loved Benzema. So that's saying something. Have a good one.

Valverde will probably be sold. Not enough space in the midfield if mbappe comes we'll get rodrygo vini mbappe as the front three. Cama Tchouameni Bellingham in the midfield. Fede is either benched or rotated with Rodrygo. Whatever position they end up playing in, either Rodrygo or Fede will leave in future.

What about false 9 where he can drop deep roam have all freedom and be up front. It is very hard to execute false 9 as we would need not only a worldclass striker but a mobile skillful machine which mbappe could like messi did under pep.
