Ancelotti is the guy that put 5 midfielders in at once against Deportivo, that finally adapted Pirlo as a regista insted of playing him as an AM and so much more things like that (see how he adapted Camaving at leeftback when needed or how he improved Brahin Diaz). He just doesn't think like a system manager and post 2009 that is increasingly rare in top management, so people often don't get what he does. Is he over, under, properly rated? I hate the terms at this point, so overdone, I don't care, but I am happy that people may talk of what he does other than raisig an eyebrow

i doubt there's much in football that is still "new" tbh

All the talk about La Masia and youth development is what barcelona media sells really well, but it is more marketing than reality. Pedri has not being top level, they don’t talk about Cubarsi mistakes, Yamal is really good but he wouldn’t play if the club had money to hire a top level player in that position. Vitor Roque is on his way out because Xavi does not like him, but never gave him a chance to play regurlarly.

Carlo is the epitome of the best Italian cuisine - simple ingredients that are cooked well and are versatile enough to composite multiple dishes. He doesn’t reinvent the wheel tactically - he just plays around with his vast knowledge of tried and tested tactics to adjust with players he has at his disposal. Pep will join your club and say I can make you the best meal ever but I need all these ingredients first - Carlo will join your club and see what ingredients you have and then cook you the best meal from those

Crystal Palace have the best fans in the league, so they must come near the top for atmosphere. Since that is one of the criteria, I’m not sure how they’re 18th!

Carlo makes sure we play simple tactics but to perfection. Everyone knows what to do and when to do. This allows players to have set ranges of duty and also allows them to play on their personal ability. Thus resulting in players believing on the coach and delivering good games, and coach's trust on players increases and we get to have great matches in either extremes of attack football or defensive masterclass.
@diulikadikaday14 сағат бұрын
Ancelotti says that on attack. He doesn’t really tell the players what to do. But he does organise the defence. And to have such a stingy defense with no Thibaut Courtois? That’s incredible.

Underrated tactician? Mate his nearest rival couldn't spend a penny and had to make do with a Southampton reject running their midfield and the club that gave them a run for their money was battling relegation last season. Where is the shame?

Xavi is insanely underrated, the things he did with that money is INSANE and then conceding just 20 goals and promoting so many la masia players is UNDERRATED

Ancelotti is not under or overrated. He is perfectly rated. He's not wedded to a particular philosophy that's all.

Madrid play very intelligently how they defend etc no pressing at all, no fouls, and when they got the ball they can 1. Counter or 2. Build up slowly very unpredictable team (but you need fast players for this type of play) this is why they will win another champions league

I called the Arteta Effect. Arsenal had a lot patience with Arteta, and its now finally showing. Other clubs are starting to notice it. They know if they don't let those managers actually start a project, they will never catch to Man City, even if it means 3-4 season of bad results. But perhaps Pochettino can pull an Arteta at Chelsea, or Ange and Spurs or even Eddie Howe are Newcastle. Clubs are shifting priorities. Before a manager started having problems with a top player (Mourinho vs Pogba) they would sack the manager. But that is the dumb choice. Sure it saves more money than having to pay wages for a player that the manager wont play and wants to sell. But in the long term it allows the manager to start building the team to his vision. I mean we all play FM, we know its impossible to succeed in a single season.

I think it would be best for a big club to come in for De Zerbi this summer really. That culture across the club through players and staff of people being picked off the top when good enough, and someone else coming through in the system, feels like it's reaching that point with him. Would rather that than things going sour next season if he keeps underperforming (relative to how phenomenally he has otherwise performed).

i was skeptical about Post simply because he's not managed anywhere near as competitive as the PL. his first games its all new and other teams werent sure how to react but once everyone got familiar with what they were doing, and he refused to change anything, the results dropped. theyve been mediocre at best since January and i dont expect much improvement unless he gets more flexible. you can't just stick to your style even if its not working cuz "that's just how we play"
