The Process of Design

In this thought provoking session, IDesign Master Architect Michael ‘Monty’ Montgomery explores why software system design is a lost art in the industry today. Monty first highlights why all good design is a process applicable not only to architecture, but to plan and code as well. A comprehensive design methodology IDesign calls, The IDesign Method. Monty follows this overview by focusing on one of the largest design gaps in the industry today, the lack of consideration for designing the code. He then outlines a straightforward, repeatable process for designing code. Along the way Monty illustrates that the IDesign Method is not mutually exclusive with current industry approaches, such as Agile and DDD. Instead, the Method brings greater clarity to both.
