With seating put in place every August (in "normal" years) for the military tattoo, as part of the Edinburgh International Festival. The first rock concert staged on the castle esplanade was in 1991 by that "other" famous Scottish band Runrig - check them out!! - I was there - sadly Runrig recently retired but their excellent and varied range of songs are accessible to all thanks to KZbin - just like the Proclaimers music. P.S. Fireworks concert every August at Edinburgh Castle - very impressive display, second only to Sydney harbour bridge at New Year.

Have always loved the Proclaimers from the start. The film Sunshine on Lieth I watch at least every other month. I was knocked out when my good friends got married in August and they chose this song to have at their reception. Such a great sentiment.
