I think the friendship grew according to a doco I watched but when Collins needed money in hardships Shaw still wouldn't sign to allow the show to be rerun.Sad

@@suicidebysasquatch4873 he did it for Gordon Jackson's widow, Rona Anderson. Lewis really pressed Shaw, because she was doing it so hard after Jackson's death. Shaw capitulated and the reruns went ahead. Collins was never the one in financial difficulties.

Lewis Collins is just beyond gorgeous. I remember that one about the bomb in the phone! I was only about 10 when this came out but Bodie was my first crush along with Avon and JR Ewing....those dark brooding dangerous 70s types...

The receptionist in white is pretty. Lewis Collins had the best lines, Martin Shaw was the straight man. Gordon Jackson was great as George Cowley. Best female star was Patricia Hodge (Involvement).

Not sure if Lewis had the best lines. Think of the "heart, jam tart" jibe in "First Night" or almost all of the entertaining Martin Shaw lines in "Take Away", for example. In terms of female stars, I also liked Pamela Salem as "Marikka", Brigitte Kahn as "Christine", Carol Royle as "Anna" and Sheila Ruskin as "Susan" very much.

What made the show was L. Collins great comedy timing with the great Gordon Jackson it was just brilliant, Shaw played along reluctantly he was just stuck up and wanted out he always thought he was too good for this show ..
