I had a friend in early 90's n was very good. They shouted overrated when he took court n he shut them up by hitting two in a row right past half court line. He was good in football also n received many letters from major universities but unfortunately he allowed his surroundings get the better of him n ended up in jail. He was fun to watch when he did play n they won state in football his senior year n went to junior colleges but did not stay long enuf to play a game. God Bless!!

My son played High School basketball, and he was the starting PG on varsity for 3 years. He made the first team two years in a roll. They won District champions back to back, and he was MVP. He also played D2 basketball. I say this to say my son thinks Julia Newman is a solid player. He thinks he would be a next-level player when he knows how to play in an actual system. He has poor shot selection; he doesn’t use his teammates, and he has a bad case of tunnel version. And his biggest downfall is his father!

One of the main issues of Julian Newman is not his height or his father… It was basically that he never learned how to be a true point guard. Tyrone “Muggsy” Bogues was shorter than Julian Newman by standing 5’3, and he played 14 years in the NBA against some of the greatest basketball athletes of that time(The Jordan era) when the league was way more physical than it is now. Besides having good ball-handling skills, Muggsy had quickness, strength, speed, good court vision, defense, a good playmaker & scorer when needed, a high level of basketball IQ, a great passer, could run an offense, could start the break within seconds, got his players involved to score, a great teammate, leadership skills and most importantly, Point Guard IQ… Julian Newman has none of this. Julian Newmen is more of a “Showman”, then an actual professional basketball Point Guard. He’s more so focused on scoring and putting on a show then actually applying the skills & IQ in order to be a true point guard. I honestly feel that streetball leagues or Sports entertainment like the “Harlem Globetrotters“ will be more of a nitch for him rather than playing professional basketball.

Caleb Anderson Yeah muggsy was a once in a Century type player. You won't see someone in the NBA that Julian's height last longer than a couple years. Unless ur Uber athletic which Julian isn't then ur not making it. Players like Nate Robinson could make up for the height difference with athleticism. Muggsy made up for the difference with his agility and feistiness
