I remember seeing Cats Crafty - maybe Blacktown RSL -, and I remember flowers being smashed and thrown at us - lol -. Saw Deadly Nightshades a few times also.

Ze Vooden Box were one of my favourite original perth bands. The image of Lisa banging on a kerosene drum is something I'll never forget.

Yes Lisa has always been a focal point on any stage, a very engaging performer

@@ProCopyAustralia1 She's a treasure isn't she. These videos are immensely valuable history, this is important work you are doing. None of us are getting any younger and the memories need to be preserved so the youngsters can have a idea of what things used to be like. Great to see so many of these guys still playing and in good health despite the decades of hard living. Keep it up, much appreciated.

I attended a "Gentlemens Lunch" a few days back (first stirrings post Covid) and was desperately dredging the memory banks when we were reminiscing about our favourite Perth bands. Dave Warner, Dugites etc but no matter what hints or proddings I gave myself or the others, none of us could recall the name of the fabulous Seal and the Beam. It came to me in a flash for some reason today. Always put on a great show the girls. Should never be forgotten when we talk about Perth pub bands.

Used to see Cats Crafty at the Cat and Fiddle Balmain on many a Sunday evening back around 1990? Was devastated to see them vanish, never got to see the Deadly Nightshades due to moving away so really happy to see this interview! Those gigs at Balmain were showstoppers!

Know this is an old comment but just came across this today. I too used to go see Cats Craft at the Cat. Brilliant band and Lisa's voice is amazing live. The good old days.

@@chezh3224 They should have been huge! So visual/theatrical, great songs, Lisa was/is a force of nature. Read a review that described her as a "banshee cross of KAte Bush and Chrissie Amphlett" which I thought was pretty apt! I've got a sneaky recording of one of their gigs that I throw on from time to time to relive the "good old days"

@@richardkenna149 I had a recording too but over time I lost it (or it was stolen from me..one of my flatmates had a huge crush on Lisa at the time). Wish I still had it as I cant even remember their songs now. 😒

Great interview, it was good how you worked through her transition from cover band to original band. I was fortunate to play with Lisa in one of her early original lineups (1984 Crime & The Weather) and recall how she effortlessly used her vocal and percussion skills to improve the arrangement of our songs.
