I don't know why more people haven't listened to this testimony (I feel it's much more than a talk). This is one of the great testimonies of Jesus Christ, Joseph Smith, and the Book of Mormon. I pray any to come upon this video please take the time to listen.

I had this address nearly memorized while serving as a missionary in Sydney Australia from 1979 to 1981. With its sound arguments and clear evidence, it is one of the worlds great testimonies of the Prophet Joseph Smith. But, arguments and evidence aside, if one simply reads and prays about the truthfulness of the book of Mormon one will come to know of the prophetic calling of the Prophet Joseph Smith through the whisperings of the Spirit.

In 1979, as I went on my mission to New York city mission, my brother who'd just 6 months beforefinished his mission there , gave me some of his stuff this was included. A fantastic testimony and from time to time I come across a written copy, and it's like jump starting a low battery.

We share this talk with investigators and new converts often.

My dad played this for me so many times along with my older siblings. He also played it for serious investigators and brought many to the Church through the power of its message. Hugh B. Brown learned his speaking style from B.H. Roberts who used to debate Christian ministers in the Salt Lake Tabernacle and, as Robert's biographer said, B.H. Roberts wasn't satisfied with defeating his opponent. He insisted on "dragging the body around the courtyard a bit". Strong rock hard testimonies of fearless men. Very inspiring.

That’s encouraging. I just gave this to an investigator this evening. One who’s well studied on our church, read the Book of Mormon several times and Doctrine and Covenants even. Knows a lot of history and hung up on some stuff. Hope the spirit can speak to him through this talk. Prayers please. He’s a great man with a great family.

I had the privilege of hearing him give his "God is the Gardner" talk in Berchtesgaden, Germany during semi-annual conference there.

Perhaps the MOST dynamic testimony I've ever heard on the Prophet Joseph Smith and revelation today.

Look into the discourses on the Prophet Joseph Smith given by Truman G. Madsen. I believe there are four of them and you can find them on KZbin for free. Also powerful and enlightening testimonials on the life and legacy of Joseph Smith.
