I have ALS. My life, I am told, will probably not exceed 5 years. Since my diagnosis, I have felt an urgency to accelerate my study and learning in connection with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Br. Madsen has become one of my greatest sources of knowledge to a depth far beyond what I had previously attained. I will be eternally grateful for his tutelage.

The manifestations of the Spirit/His gifts are alive and well in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I'm a young guy, but in the short time (several years) I have studied the things of God and desired them to be active in my life (especially the spiritual gift of forgiveness), I have come to know, by raw experience, that spiritual gifts are real. Faith does not stay faith; it turns into straight up knowledge once the effects of your faith come to fruition. A desire to know (and not just believe, but know) the things of God also includes the necessity of doing the things of God. In other words, God will not give us witness until after we are willing to follow through with what that witness entails; namely, obedience to Him.

My testimony of Joseph Smith has grown exponentially as I've listened to these lectures. The Spirit bears witness to me of his prophetic status. I believe he will return in the winding up days before the coming of Christ to complete his mission, to bring forth more scripture as the head of this final dispensation. How I hope to know him personally someday!

It is a very sad fact; So many unscrupulous men have used Joseph Smith's story. And by telling out right lies it is not even possible to separate "Fact" from fiction!
