After living in the U.S. for 50 years, I was deported. At times life has been difficult because at my age not much is expected. But the most difficult part of this is that those family members who are American citizens have forgotten me or turned their back on me completely. The children are paying for the crimes of their parents. If American citizenship is so important that it needs to happen eventually. You cannot just stay in someone else's country just because you want to. There is a process for everything. I think these parents failed their children by not putting a priority on citizenship papers. We are a nation of laws like any other country. You cannot just walk across the border and say I'm here. Plus it's not like we're getting the best and the brightest let's just be honest. We're getting the dregs of society. There aren't doctors lawyers accountants and astronauts crossing the border trying to get in. We don't need more poor people here we need more outstanding human beings that want to be American citizens. I understand you were brought over here as a child that you didn't know any better but as you came up you need to start answering these questions about your citizenship status because if you do not and just think you can slide under the radar eventually you're going to get pulled over. Because of racial profiling and eventually it's going to be found out that you don't have proper paperwork. And eventually you will be doing jail time and then deported. Is it really worth it all?

Life is not over in Mexico, try to figure out what people in Mexico who live very well and surpass the American minimum wage do! There are many Doctors, Engineers, Accountants, Managers and so on! The difference between a developed country and a developing one is that people who have grunt jobs can live a decent life! In developing countries, having a career increases your chances of a decent life, not a warranty but being bilingual increases the chances even more. I know it takes time, but you can make it here in Mexico. If your immigration status in the USA has no point of return, try studying in Mexico, it's almost free and very competitive in the public sector.
