actually, most broadway shows get a proshot, it´s just the lucky few that have to be very successful in order for it to get released! hamilton, into the woods, etc. since the prom wasnt majorly successful, they couldn´t afford to release it. (obviously now they have the movie, which i think is genius, because your average viewer (non theatre kid) is more likely to watch a movie than a proshot, and they knew this story could really resonate with a wide audience!)

@@merrymermaid Well, in the movie, they cut down this song so that it ends right before their verse in you happened happens. They recorded the music for it (you can even listen to the whole thing in the soundtrack) but in the movie, it ends before Emma and Alyssa's cute little verse

I know!! One of the problems I had with the movie was that the portrayal of Emma and Alyssa's relationship felt like it was lacking something, and I think their small moment at the end of this song (especially their goofy dancing) would've added a lot

Ever since Ryan Murphy announced the possible Christmas release of the Prom movie on Netflix this past week, I’ve been on a hunt for more videos on this musical. The cast album got me more excited!
