That was great. Love the narration and roleplaying characters based on their traits. My only concern is that CK2 tends to be rather cruel when it comes to mortality rates, so the story may end very abruptly. (And gameplay-wise, I played William the Conqueror scenario dozens of times, and never seen him lose. Guess Robert really has bad luck. Then again, he sounds like annoying little brat, so maybe that's for the best)

I am actually playing multiple saves - I’m not trying to flex - and one of them started as William the conquerer but he got poisoned b a Welsh duke at 40 so now Robert is king, it did pass to his brother Richard for a couple months, and then back to Robert, strange

I know this is a little off topic but have you ever tried our Roma surrectem 2? If not it’s a really amazing mod for Rome 1 massive map lots of settlements and some pretty hard places to defend. But it has its flaws it not really updated and the guy who made it is inactive but mabey you could contact him some how and it crashes sometimes is what I’ve heard but if it had Rome 2 graphics and added fighting features it would be pretty good and it would be a treasure trove of fun so give it a try mabey a nlp.

Yep I used to play roma surrectem like 10 years ago! Haven't played it since back then though, but I remember it was pretty cool. Need to try Ancient empires soon, since according to the guy managing it it's meant to be the spiritual successor to RS.

8:36 It is bullshit like this that made me stop playing CK2. I had a similar thing happen, when I pressed my son's claim on Norway during a succession war. I had France and Denmark as Allies, and we had about 90% warscore. My character died, and instead of my son inheriting the war or the alliances, the war ended. I couldn't start the war again because I had lost those allies as well. A situation that is completely nonsensical completely undermined hours of planning. CK2 is basically unplayable for me until they make there war/claim system more flexible.

It makes sense though. If the character with a claim dies and it wasn't a strong claim to begin with then what legitimacy is there for war? I enjoy the unpredictability of CK2, it's the game's charm imo.

Your not so bad at this game. The thing about CK2 is it's about politics and roleplaying matters a lot more than in Total War. Indeed in my expeience if I don't care about the charachters than I don't care about the game, wheras in Total War the battle's are always fun.
